Fire Destroys Flomaton Mobile Home

August 11, 2010

Fire destroyed a mobile home near Flomaton Tuesday evening.

The fire was reported about 7:15 p.m. on Hollywood Drive near Old Fannie Road. According to Flomaton Fire Chief Steve Stanton, the home was fully involved and the blaze was threatening another structure when he arrived on scene. It took fire units about 20 minutes to get the fire under control as they concentrated on saving the other structure. There were no injuries reported.

The Flomaton, Friendship, Lambeth and Jay fire departments responded, along with the Century Station of Escambia Fire Rescue.

Thanks Kathy………Lets all hope that “renea” has no influence on how people will come together for this family. I hope they receive more than they will ever need!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever heard of don’t judge a book by its cover

and Im the one “making a Mountain out of a molehill”

I already apologized for the statement about the insurance, I know where this family is, i lost my home and everything but the clothes on my back a few years ago, I did have insurance but that never touched what my family lost. I truly feel for this family, and whatever I can do to help I will be more then glad to help them. The Red Cross only pays for three days in a hotel ( or at least that’s what they did for us) and weather they had insurance or not.
This was not the place for everyone to be throwing around negative and hate remarks.
My prayers are with this family and Thanks for the update on what the family needs and where to take donations

**renea** YOU are making a mountain out of a molehill………..

You stated “my the looks of the Trailer, im sure the family didnt have any type of insurance” with MY being BY I am assuming?
OK, your statement did sound like you were juding by the looks of the mobile home that they did not have insurance.
NO WHERE did “really” say anything about this family DID or DID NOT have insurance OR NOT needing assistance.
I hope that all the readers of this story totally ignore your comments.
It’s NOT YOUR place to let everyone know to put thier money back in thier pocket.
I do not know this family, but am willing to help them anyway I can because as a CHRISTIAN, that is what I do.
Please, NORTHESCAMBIA folks, lets help this family and ignore the drama that one person can cause.

WILLIAM, will you please list what this family might need. Children?
    THANKS!!

To “Really” I am sorry If I offended you, I guess that was the only part of the comment you read. I truly feel for this family, and wanted to know how to help. But seems you know them and they must be doing just fine I’ll put my money back in my pocket and let my everyone know they dont need our help.

I am glad that no one was home at the time of this fire. I hope that the people are able to get what they need to re-establish themselves somewhere else. The Red Cross can only do so much because many times their funds are limited. Therefore, would someone please post what these people are in need of….. God Bless all of you.

I also understand what it’s like. Our mobile home was destroyed in a fire in 2004; 1 month after Ivan had laid waste to Escambia and Santa Rosa County.

I know that it’s hard to start over from scratch but a life can never be replaced. I’m just glad to hear that no one was hurt.

my the looks of the Trailer, im sure the family didnt have any type of insurance. Please keep us posted on how or where people can donate to this family. I know first hand what its like to lose everything in a fire and we had insurance, My prayers to the family

Can you imagine? Losing everything you own.

Let me take this opportunity to remind everyone to donate your furniture and household items and clothes to the Red Cross so they always have inventory to provide needed items to those who lose their homes and possessions to fire.
