A road crew found the body about 9:20 a.m. in tall grass just off the northbound lanes of Highway 29 about a tenth of a mile north of Champion Drive and the West Fraser McDavid sawmill.
“It is being treated as a homicide to err on the side of caution,” Sgt. Ted Roy, spokesperson for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said. Roy said an autopsy would be conducted Wednesday to determine how the man died. As of now, he said investigators did not know how or exactly the man died or if foul play was involved. Roy said it was possible that the man was hit by a vehicle, but that was yet to be determined.
Roy said authorities do know the man’s identity, but he declined to release the man’s name at this time.

Have they still not released his name?
my thoughts and prayers are with the family i never net him but he had a wonderful daughter i am so sorry for their loss
we will have to wait and see if this is foul play or not. I guess there might be non criminal or foul play reasons to die or be left on the side of the road dead? not sure what they would be but will have to wait for more info.
>> sorry about the comment. Just wondering. curious like everyone else. William keep up the good work.
Your comment was not a problem at all; I just wanted to stop all those that might offer their “insight” into what happened.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I hope the investigation is quick and the family can have closure. May this person rest in peace!!!
