More Details Released: Driver Charged With DUI After Hwy. 95A Crash

July 12, 2010

Two people were injured in a two vehicle accident Sunday evening in Gonzalez.

The accident happened just about 7 p.m. on Highway 95A at Kingsfield Road.

Gregory M. Williams, 40, was charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, no valid driver’s license and reckless driving following the crash. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Williams had been observed in his 1998 Mitsubishi Montero passing other vehicles and crossing the center line at a high rate of speed as he was heading north on Highway 95A.

As he was approaching the entrance of the Shell Station and Wendy’s south of Kingsfield Road, a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Pamela T. Gaupp, 56, of Pensacola, began to exit the parking lot. Williams crossed the double yellow lines and collided with Gaupp’s pickup, according to the FHP.

Gaupp and her passenger, Renee L. Bailey, 54, of Pensacola, received minor injuries in the crash. Williams was not injured in the crash.

    Think about this pm
The girl who got the 168 posts or whatever,
could be this guy at 40. Like someone else said,
this guy probably has been this way since he was
    her age.

Let me tell YOU something incase you don’t know.
It USUALLY does start at 16, those are the very people
who usually never stop, they act on impulse without thinking,
and go by the premise if its fun and it feels good do it.
She knew even at 16 everysingle law she was breaking.
    She just didn’t care!.

As to the girl who got all the posts, oh well poor baby.
Maybe the little brat will think twice next time.
Something sure as heck needs to wake her up.

She was a common criminal at 16 years of age.
    Thats some recomendation for anything.

I also just read where she didn’t get a DUI ticket.
    WHY?????

Who wrote her up, and who’s uncles was he?
    I don’t understand.
I guarnadangtee you if this was me pulling
this stupid stunt, I would have been charged.

I want to know WHY SHE WAS NOT!

    As for David Green,
He makes a lot of sense sometimes, I read everything
he writes, as I do most of your comments. I think
your biggest problem is you think if anyone doesn’t
think like you they should just shut up.
Well kiddo it’s big world out there and here in
america we have a little thing called freedom
    of speech.
So take your own advice, if you don’t want it!

Give him his trial in court and if found guilty, considering all the charges against him, hopefully he will get at least 5 years in the state pen. It wouldn’t fix stupid but at least he would be off the road for a few years.

    REGARDING:
“I guess they need to ban alcohol” AND “Hey folks, as our resident “Will Rogers Wanna Be” always has good advise for us and knows the law so well, lets just let him have his say . . . ”

    Well, since you asked . . .

I have to wonder what good knowing the law would do and what good outlawing this drug would do. What the gentleman did is already illegal and yet he did it and nearly “fixed stupid” in the process.

I don’t know at what age “old and wise” is supposed to kick in. I suspect “too old to listen” has been achieved already. They endanger the lives of ALL people when anyone drives down the road incapacitated.

Here’s the requested advise: Be as drunk or as stoned as you want to be AT HOME, just not on public roads. You are involving the lives of others who have not consented to being killed by your actions. Please refrain in the future.

    David for freedom
    and joyful life

Is this all there is to do in this city. I see them out day and night with their booze. No wonder this place is the armpit of the south.

I agree, they SHOULD ban alcohol!

The scary thing is…we will see and hear about more and more about stories about this same type incident

    PM

    Stupid is as stupid does.
Your darned straight he will be taken to the public whipping post for his stupidity! …NOT just another good ole boy doing his best to make a living…more like a total idiot who chose to put the lives of others in jeopardy. This isn’t his first offense, but hopefully it will be his last. Here’s hoping they throw the book at him.

    1) refusal to submit to an alcohol breath test,
    2) reckless driving,
    3) no driver’s license,
    4) display of a fictitious driver’s license and
    5) driving with a suspended license.

He looks like a nice enough guy…I say let him slide this time…and next time,

No excuse…this man is plenty OLD enough to know better. He probably has been drinking and driving ever since he was a teen-ager and doesn’t even think twice about it now. If you need to drink, do it at home and keep the heck off our roads.

omg….come on i guess they need to ban achol

Case Numer 2008-MM-027110-A Escambia County Court– an open case against this fellow- But what the heck – he is 40 years old – not 16 and definitely not driving a new Challenger, and drunk at 7:00pm. Just another good ole boy doing his best to make a living – But Gosh – I wonder if he is going to be taken to the public whipping post and have 162 comments posted about him. My best guess is NO – Hey folks, as our resident “Will Rogers Wanna Be” always has good advise for us and knows the law so well, lets just let him have his say and then because HE has spoken we can all just be quiet and “don’t worry.” I will be waiting for his reply to my irresponsible comment and will most certainly take it to the bank put it in my safety deposit box where it is dark and lonesome – and say a few appropriate words over it before I bury it.
