Sheriff’s Office Wins New Harley Davidson For Traffic Enforcement Efforts
July 20, 2010
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a 2010 Harley Davidson Road King patrol motorcycle for traffic enforcement enforcement.
Sheriff David Morgan made traffic enforcement a top priority after taking office, and the program was named as one of the state’s topĀ programs. Under the Motor Unit Challenge from the Florida Department of Transportation, Escambia County was the random grand prize winner of the fully equipped $30,000 Harley.
To be Florida’s best in traffic enforcement is not just about writing tickets, according to Panhandle Region Law Enforcement Liason Andrew Johnson. A scoring system rates each participating department using FDOT data on citations, decreases in traffic crashes, increased seat belt usage, education and training.

Officers from each of the six recognized programs had the opportunity in Orlando to try their lucky key to start and win the Harley for their department. The fifth officer to try, Lt. Bart Fryer from Escambia County, had the right key and drove the Harley home.
The new Harley has been assigned to Deputy Donny White of the ECSO Traffic Division.

The husband of one of my many cousins was a motorcycle policeman in Tallahassee. He said people would show no respect for motorcycles. They ran over him at least a couple of times. (he must be tough, still alive)
I hope it works out.
David for crashproof motorcycles
Hey that’s great! Alright Deputy Danny White, get out there and write those scofflaws some citations! And keep the rubber side down!
What, a free bike with all the bells and whistles? – That’s fantastic!!!
Oodles,
Why r u complaining about getting a free bike?
Oodles, it is quite obvious that you are running low on noodles…
oh please,
and we thought they really wanted to get our problem drivers up here,
and we find out there was a race to win a harley!
Of course they won a hiarley, nothing but the best for the sherriffs department.
We know they like thieir toys.
So while our government is cutting all the jobs that keep us safe, like
police and firemen, we still have money for races to win expensive equipment
prizes.
Manpower, who needs that.
Fancy toys, now theres a real need for that.
grrrrrrrrrrrufffffff!
