Or the list is wrong–there are a couple of teachers on the list I know have continuing contract but are listed as “reappointed”.

I’ve found a few apparent mistakes in the list and been made aware of others. I’ve checked all of them against the school board agenda, and that’s the way each was listed on the agenda.

Unless I missed something, our list above is accurate by the school board agenda. The errors apparently were made at the district level.

Here’s a direct link to the agenda:

There are several reasons some one could be on annual contract for an extended period of time–the first one that comes to mind is if the person left the district and returned they will always be annual contract (happened to someone I work with). Or the list is wrong–there are a couple of teachers on the list I know have continuing contract but are listed as “reappointed”.

If Reappointment means they have been with the school district less than 3 years (a.k.a “annual contract”) and the principal has asked them to return the following year. How is that so since Patricia A. Forehand has been with the School District since Century High Scool was around. Someone please explain?

I am looking forward to another GREAT year at EWMS with our returning (“reappointed”) teachers and those receiving their professional contracts!
see you all August 16th , if not sooner!

Reappointment means they have been with the school district less than 3 years (a.k.a “annual contract”) and the principal has asked them to return the following year. Professional means that they have been with the district 3 or more years and receive “tenure” (a.k.a “continuing contract”) allowing them to stay at the school until they choose to leave.

what does reappointments mean? are they staying? or being sent elsewhere? what does it mean by professional? did they upgrade their learning and credentials to va higher degree?
