June 23, 2010

A precautionary boil water notice in effect since Saturday for some Bratt-Davisville Water System customers has been rescinded.

The precautionary boil water notice was rescinded after bacteriological sampling showed the water to be safe to drink, the water system said. The notice had been in effect for the area bounded by West Highway 4, Bratt Road and Pine Barren Road.

The ‘1′ employee that is in the office isn’t the one to call….the board members are the ones everyone should be calling and asking why!!! They don’t call and alert when flush hydrants are being flushed and drops the water pressure way down either, but they should.

I soooo agree!! We pay JUST as much as Atmore residents and we don’t have sewage on our bill….the LEAST they can do is alert us to a problem….LAZINESS!!!

I have called B-D Water system numerous times to ask WHY they have not yet implemented a “phone tree” system to alert their PAYING customers when there is an alert of any kind. “Well, that is a good suggestion, we will forward that.” We deserve to know the minute our water may be even remotely affected. Not everyone listens to a particular radio station, or has internet access. They advised me they would start putting door tags on residents affected. Seems the phone tree would be more cost effective. Call and give them your comments. We pay good money for our water supply. Things will never change unless we demand change.
