Valentino Trial Moved To Okaloosa
May 11, 2010
An Okaloosa County judge will hear the criminal case of an Escambia County commissioner facing campaign related charges, according to an order issued Monday by Escambia Chief Judge Terry Terrell.
Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino pleaded not guilty last week in Escambia County Circuit Court. He is charged with the solicitation of a political contribution in a building owned by a governmental agency.
Valentino is accused of accepting a campaign donation at his county office from Pensacola developer Dan Gilmore on November 5, 2009.
The charge is a first degree misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in the county jail and a $1,000 fine. Valentino is due back in court for a jury trial in late June.

Yeah right. Let’s give a “re-do” to all the “Good Ol’ Boys” who don’t want to follow the law. It is the story of “The Scorpion & The Frog” – Gene can’t help it – it’s his nature.
I smell a rat in Gene’s office !!!! Mr. Valentino is a stand up man in my book and Will be getting my vote !!!!! If this turns out to be a set up we need to put the purpatrator under the jail for a vary vary long time !!!!! I wish you all the best Mr Valentino you are a stand up person in my book…..
I’m with”mr river” on this. The whole this sure smells like a set up.
The only commissioner along with Kevin that is really there for the people. If you look hard im sure old George is behind this one. Maybe he sent somebody to snoop around Genes house to.
Vote for anyone but Valantino OR George T!
