Northview’s Austin Reid Signs With Northwest Florida State College

The Northview Chief’s Austin Reid signed a letter of intent Tuesday with Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.

Reid pitched 78 2/3 innings this season for the Chiefs, giving up just 17 earned runs and walking 30. He recorded 102 strikeouts and a 1.51 ERA. Reid’s senior year record for Northview was eight wins and three losses.

    Austin is a very talented and dedicated indvidual that will go a long way in life. He has worked through injuries not once complaining, but instead worked harder. His abilities and talent makes him a very good player. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you playing for many years.

    Congratulations Austin! I was looking at old ball pictures of you and Hunter from years past and got a good laugh….yall bills on the hats were as curled under as you could get them with the ball pants pulled up to yalls knees….lol….know that Hunter is truly gonna miss you his next two years and you have always been his #1 pitcher to catch for….thank goodness for your Daddy puttin him behind the plate =) Go and keep doing your thing!

    Yesterday I had the hardest day of my life, watching miles get on that bus for afgahn was so sad! I thought I wouldn’t be able to smile for days!     Little did I know that the little boy that used to sit on my lap with his sister and we sang songs would one day be a man with a awesome talent and a great future such as this.I am very proud of you and if there was telephones in heaven I’m sure you and I would get a call.He so loved to see you playball and so did I ..Give God the praise and go after it son you can do it.I love you.
