Three Year Old Nearly Drowns; Found Floating Face Down In Pool

A three-year old girl is in critical condition after being found floating face down in a pool Thursday evening in the Bay Springs community near Walnut Hill.

Emergency personnel were called to a home in the 10000 block of Highway 97A about 6:20 p.m. after a family member found the child face down in the pool. She was not breathing when removed from the pool.

Another family member reportedly performed CPR on the child and revived her. Authorities said it is not known how the child got past a fence surrounding the pool or how long she had been in the water.

The young girl was transported by LifeFlight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where family said she was recovering in a pediatric ICU unit.

The Walnut Hill Station of Escambia Fire Rescue, Atmore Ambulance and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.

    shes doin fine and shes at home thanks for all your pryers god really did a miracle.my dad actually came forward and is gettin babtized.god did 2 miracles in a couple of days.were still freash about everything that happened exspecialy me finding her its not good but shes doin fine thank you..

    I have a 3 year old and cant imagine having to go through somthing like this. So sad to have to go through! My prayers are with this little girl and for everyone who is close to her! And my sympathy is for this little girls mother! GOD POUR DOWN YOUR MERCY!!!!!!!!!

    i don’t trust fences,gates or screens around pools with young children around,i have 2 young kids too and wouldn’t imagine that to happen to me and my family,i hope she recover’s well and god is watching over her and her family

    Oh no! :( But she is breathing. So glad someone saw her in time. I pray she recovers as good as new, and that her family will be comforted of God during this awful ordeal. I speak Life to that child.
