Flood Warning: Central Escambia

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1100 am CDT for
central Escambia County.

At 947 am CDT…National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to
indicate a cluster of thunderstorms over the western Florida
Panhandle from Milton to Pensacola. Although at this time…most of
the organized thunderstorms with heavy rain are just outside the
warning area…there continues to be potential for additional
thunderstorm development and flash flooding over the warned area.
Storms were moving north northeast at 10 to 15 mph.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Gonzalez…
Ensley…Cottage Hill…Cantonment and Beulah

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice…turn around…dont drown.
