The owners of a small landscaping business in Cantonment are asking for the public’s help in finding their stolen equipment.

Sometime overnight on April 30,  the company’s entire businesses was stolen when thieves made off with a trailer containing all of their equipment. According an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office report a homemade utility trailer with REW Services’ equipment was stolen from a residential address on West Kingsfield Road near Ransom Middle School.

The 1990 six-foot trailer made of solid steel was painted solid black and had Florida tag number A802TY. The left side of the trailer had pipe for tool holders, and in two of the pipes there were pieces of broken wooden handles.

Equipment missing includes a green and black 60-inch cut Lesco Z2 mower; a 36-inch Snapper walk-behind mower; a 21″ Honda mower; a Kawasaki string trimmer; a Shindaiwa edger and a variety of hand tools. The Lesco mower had many deck welds and repairs, according to the owners.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620.

    REGARDING:
“….both hands should be chopped off with an axe. Publicly. No prison, no jail, just whack! The societies that practice this have virtually no theft at all.”

Fun to think about to relieve anger at the sons of strangers who did it, but when cooled down, not worth it. Having handless people around would force somebody to look after them even more than we unintentionally do already.

Plus, who would want to be the one chopping off hands? Got to be bad for the soul.

The societies which do such things are not ones in which any of us would want to live.

As a proper Democrat, I would want them to lose all tax deductions and have to pay extra for the rest of their lives or at least until they have paid back a hundred times what they were caught stealing, under the assumption people commit crimes for which they are not caught and/or convicted.

The extra pay could go to the victims they wronged.

Seeing the clause on tax forms would remind all people what would happen if they chose to steal in the future.
“TAKE A DEDUCTION OF $1500 PER PERSON UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CRIMES: ……………………..”

Look at that at least once per year and pass it on to your children so they would know what they faced.

Theives of this calibur all deserve the same punishment, which is something absent in our juducial system and our nation. When caught and convicted, one or both hands should be chopped off with an axe. Publicly. No prison, no jail, just whack! The societies that practice this have virtually no theft at all.

Alot of stolen stuff winds up at the huge Flea Market in Orlanda. Just be careful lf you ever find your stuff . Some folks carry guns .It is best to walk off and call the police and let them handle it. Someone stole my cousins trailer out of my sisters yard in Molino. He was taking down her mobil home and making a living with that trailer also. “Everyone Reaps What They Sew”

A good tip if leaving your trailer hooked up…back up against a tree..building…or a wall or something..makes it hard to get it out of there …or unload something like the lawnmower…lowdown people are everywhere..cant trust em….I had a generator stolen one night from under my carport…they left the brand new STIHL chainsaw sitting 5 ft away…guess they knew what they were after…

I am sure the person that stole this will use it to earn a living. I think anyone buying it shuld be also put under the jail.

why cant anyone get lucky and catch these jerks in the act.these jerks need to be shot.

  12. Ryan L on May 14th, 2010 2:59 pm

The trailer is ACTUALLY a 6ft (width) X 14ft (long), definitely not a 5X12 trailer, especially seeing as its a tandem axle.

A crying shame to steal a working mans equipment, the equipment used to make a living. Yep, watch Criagslist.

  14. Amanda R. on May 14th, 2010 11:03 am

Just to let people know, the trailer 60 inches wide which is 5ft and 12ft long and the business is R.A.W. Service….

  15. Thatguyyouknow on May 14th, 2010 10:59 am

Serial numbers would be a nice thing to have….

  16. Safebear on May 14th, 2010 9:55 am

Why did it take 2 weeks to get this information out? That stuff could be anywhere by now. It hard enough to make a living these days and that equipment isn’t easily replaced. I hope they had insurance.

  17. rollin' stone on May 14th, 2010 9:46 am

I’m sure who ever this low life is they r not using this stuff 2 work. Cause they surely don’t work the steal instead. I hope our community finds them. Some people…

  18. rollin' stone on May 14th, 2010 9:41 am

I’m sure what ever low life stole it won’t b using it. We all know people who steal don’t work. What’s wrong with people? I will b keeping an eye out!!! Hope we catch them!

  19. bwayne on May 14th, 2010 9:38 am

Probably the same thieves who stole our utility trailer and hundreds of feet of welding leads and tools. They hit us on several different occasions, and none of our stuff has been recovered either. They had to cut a chain off our gate, and break into a locked building, but we didn’t get the publicity or any real action in investigating the robberies.
We figure our stuff is long gone (un-insured, btw) and found it’s way into another state, but Karma is a hard task master and “what goes around comes around”…

this is heartbreaking…his whole livelihood was taken…..seems like homeowners insurance should cover these stolen items…maybe a “neighborhood watch” is in order.

  21. Angi on May 14th, 2010 7:13 am

Oh my gosh! I surely hope the owners or someone can find all of this equiptment, this is just wrong for people to steal other people’s belongings…

  22. whitepunknotondope on May 14th, 2010 6:44 am

Adults who steal deserve hard prison time. Minimum 10 years, regardless of past convictions or value of property stolen.
