Billings Murder Suspect Pamela Long Wiggins Pleads To Bigamy Charges
May 17, 2010
Pamela Long Wiggins, who is facing accessory to murder charges in the deaths of Byrd and Melanie Billings, has pleaded no contest to a bigamy charge for having two husbands.
She will face a maximum sentence of five years in state prison and a $5,000 fine when she is sentenced on June 30.
NorthEscambia.com first reported on July 16, 2009, that court records obtained by NorthEscambia.com indicated that Wiggins appeared to be married to two men. Wiggins was charged about two weeks later in Okaloosa County where her second marriage took place.
Wiggins, who is charged as an accessory after the fact in connection with the murders of Byrd and Melanie Billings, was married in December 31, 2008, to Hugh Gregory Wiggins, 48, by a court clerk in Shalimar, Florida. That marriage license, as first reported by NorthEscambia.com on July 16, was witnessed by murder suspect Leonard Patrick Gonzalez, Jr. and his wife Tabitha C. Gonzalez. (License is pictured below, click to enlarge.)
But court records in Escambia County indicate that her divorce from her previous husband was not complete at the time.
Under the name Pamela Long Malden, she filed for divorce from James Colburn Malden, 68, on January 29, 2008, seeking to an a marriage from May 5, 2007. Escambia County court records indicated that case was still open.
The bigamy charge arrest warrant states that confidential sources told Okaloosa investigators that there were photographs of Pamela Long and Hugh Wiggins displayed near a stairwell in her Gulf Breeze home. She told the confidential sources that she had married Hugh Wiggins to shield him from about $11,000 in back taxes, and she admitted that her marriage to Walden was still valid.
“Both sources heard Pamela state that she was a bigamist,” the arrest warrant states.
When arrested on the bigamy charge, Wiggins was out on $10,000 bond after she was charge as an accessory after the fact in connection to the July 19, 2009, deaths of Byrd and Melanie Billings.

Wendy, Whether you know it or not, I am a wonderful person and have a very good point of view and attitude towards life. I do not like people that assist MURDERERS away from the crime scene and I know her personally and I KNOW she is shady as I said before. I dont like dishonest people. I have prayed for her plenty of times, believe me. I choose to surround myself around good people and I dont take up for people that do wrong like you seem to be doing. I will pray for you also… Have a great day !! As P2BRep said GOOD GRIEF !!!! LOL LOL
WHAT A WOMAN!
She finally figured out that being married to two people people at the same time is bigamy. I’d legalize it anyway of course, since I don’t see the harm and everybody but my wife just has to do the best she can—but, come on!—-she first said she couldn’t be guilty of bigamy because it is illegal to marry when already married therefore she wasn’t legally married to the second hubby therefore she was’t guilty of bigamy.
I wonder if it’s too late for her to go into politics…..
I’ve heard being married to three at the same time is trigonometry

I am so sad to hear that you have such a bitter, hateful point of view. I will be praying for you that you can become a happier more cheerful person. God bless.
Wendy, Why do you all feel sorry for this woman?? I know for a fact that she is shady. Have you read all the articles about the Billings murder? She was there and she drove the guys that murdered the Billings away from the scene. She also had to know that she was still legally married to another man when she married the other…. She helped when she also hid the safe that was stolen out of the Billings home when they were murdered in her back yard of one of her homes in Gulf Breeze. I am from Gulf Breeze and know that she is a SHADY, HORRIBLE person… I dont feel sorry for her a BIT !!!!!! Maybe this will change your mind about feeling sorry for her !!! She knew what she was doing… I promise she did ……
Wendy “I feel so sorry for this poor lady”
Good Grief , get real !!!!
I feel so sorry for this poor lady. The weight of all her problems must be devastating for her, her family and both of her husbands. I sincerely hope that this all works out for her. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family and friends.
She looks too happy. Maybe life in jail for being a sadistic accomplice to a horrible murder will wipe that grin off her face. That would be nice.
Has there been anything in the news lately on the Billings murder trial? I just haven’t seen anything…perhaps I missed it or has court not began?
I second that the least of her problems!
A thief you can trust but never a liar !
This is the least of her problems.
