As a yellow flag flew over Pensacola Beach Saturday, lifeguards rescued over 30 swimmers. Rough surf conditions are expected to continue on Sunday. These photos of a rip current rescue near the Pensacola Beach Fishing Pier were captured by Alisa Hart of Flomaton for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

All of the tourists just kill me!! They think we’re just being too cautious! The water is very dangerous when the riptides are in fullforce as I can attest to first hand.

Unfortunately, the flags were flying as yellow all weekend! Not sure why, but they were! Even though most people should see yellow for what it is, CAUTION, most don’t pay attention to it! I think by mid day they should’ve changed it to red with all those rescues!
