Pictured top: Tom Tobiassen, R-Pensacola, uses his crutch May 21, 1981, to vote for Senator Edgar Dunn, D-Ormond Beach, who was away from his desk. The vote is legal as long as the voting senator has the permission of the man he is voting for. Tobiassen was using the crutches after injuring his ankle playing softball. I met him a couple of times years ago, he seemed like a really nice man that cared about people. My sympathies go out to his family, they’ve had more than their share of tragedy.

He was a good man. He always met me at the mail box and told me stories and jokes. I will miss him dearly. All of us at the post office knew him and will have the family in our thoughts and prayers.. The Tobiassens are good people and may God bless them and keep them

I am so very sorry to hear of Mr. Tobiassen’s passing. I worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Pensacola years ago and had the pleasure of both meeting Mr. Tobiassen and working with him. He was truly a special gentleman and my heart goes out to his family during this trying time.
