Survey: 85 Percent Of Voters Have No Idea Who Should Replace Greg Evers

March 24, 2010

A survey released Tuesday night shows that about 85% of the voters in Florida House District 1 have no idea who they want to replace State Rep. Greg Evers.

Of the four Republican candidates in the race — if one were to pick –the leader would be Doug Broxson. But with just 6.8 percent of survey respondents choosing Broxson, it’s safe to say voters have yet to decide. Greg Brown was the candidate of choice for 5.3 percent of survey participants,  while Jeremy Early and Ferd Saloman were the choice of less than two percent.

With the release of absentee ballots in the race just over 100 calendar days away, 84.7 percent of respondents were undecided or had no opinion in the Marketing Metrics & Media poll conducted March 20-22. According to the survey company, the confidence interval for the survey was 5.4 percent.

Florida House District 1 includes the norther two-thirds of Escambia County, most of Santa Rosa County and a portion of Okaloosa County. The seat is being vacated by Greg Evers who is running for Florida Senate District 2.

William; I don’t think you should refer to our area as a small town anymore. You have made us all hit the big time and we feel as though we are big time. There is a tremendous following on this site, all made possible by yourself. Although we have differing opinions, this site has unified everyone north of the Nine Mile Rd. Thanks Again.

SERIOUSLY??????? I hope you were joking because there is a BIG difference in running a small town blog and being responsible for making decisions that could affect an entire State or District.

What are the qualities/ qualifications you need to run for this office?

My William ran when Greg Evers was first elected and big money was the key to the election. If your honest you have to pay for your campaign and if the person runing against you has the right money-people in their corner that is who wins. It is not the person who wants to fight for the common people and their wishes and this William did have the honest principles needed for the job but that didn’t get him elected..

As for me and my house we will not vote for ANYONE IN OFFICE again. It’s time they all came home and try some new blood. They can change positions they are seeking but if they have held any office recently they will not get our vote.

But the small town blog probably reaches 50,000 people a day. Who else knows as much about what goes in Escambia County and lives in north escambia than William? Who else would fight for us as much?

But he’s not replied here, so I guess he’s not running

Sounds like it’s time for William from northescambia.com to run. We all know who he is. I bet 85% would have said they would vote for him. How about it William?

With voters having to rely on PNJ and WEAR-3 for information, it doesn’t surprise me one bit that voters have no idea what the candidates positions are.

Candidates for State Representative Dist. 1
    Greg Brown
    Douglas Broxon
    Jeremy Early
    Ferd Salomon
    Methias Venditto

Candidates for State Representative Dist. 2
    Clay Ingram
    David Karasek

Candidates for State Senator Dist. 2
    Greg Every
    Mike Hill
    Dave Murzin

…according to the Florida Division of Elections for the 2010 general election so you can take all that with a grain of salt

I thought Jack Floyd from over in Jay was going to run? He’s the type we need! Did he change his mind about running?

I haven’t seen any information on any of the candidates running for district one in order to form an opinion, so I guess none of them mentioned really want the job. In past times prior to elections, candidates would be out stumping, shaking hands, kissing babies, and stuffing our mailboxes with their “vote for me” stuff. Well, where are they? Maybe a few or all will come out to some public venues like the Marty Rabon concert to grip and grin with folks, so we might be able to learn a little about each of them.
