Man Wanted For Kidnapping, Choking, Beating Pregnant Woman Arrested In Jay

A man accused of kidnapping, choking and beating a pregnant woman was arrested Thursday in Jay by U.S. Marshals and Santa Rosa County deputies.
Jonathan Lynn Simmons, 31, of Pace is charged with battery/strangulation, aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, kidnapping, fleeing with disregard of safety and resisting an officer without violence.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Circle K in Milton after a store clerk reported seeing a woman in a truck with Simmons mouth the words “Help me, please”.
When officers arrived about 3:30 Wednesday morning, the bloodied woman ran into the store, and Simmons took off and led deputies on a high-speed chase. He ran from the truck and escaped in a Milton neighborhood.
The pregnant woman told deputies that Simmons attempted to drug her, and he threatened to kill her.
A tip led U.S. Marshals and deputies to Simmons at a home in Jay. He was arrested without incident.
Simmons is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail without bond.

for all u stuped idiots instead of judjin him his son 11 years old and the tat on his neck is jaden his son and he wasint druging her she stabed him becus he was tryn to get her of drugs and hes getting out on desember and he is the best father i could wish to have and he stopd drinking stoped doing drugs and jaden is my little brother only 6 years old and he has his other son hunter 3 years old mayby if u knew him u WOULD NOT BE JUDJING my father mayby he did do somthing bad but hvent u think about that before u judge enyone els……………….

Aw ain’t that just sweet of him to put his son’s name on his neck.While on the other hand he’s abusing some helpless pregant woman.Please don’t tell me you are trying to make him out to be a good guy havin a bad day.I may not be able to pass judgement ,but he deserves to have his butt kicked for hittin a woman pregnant or not!!I’ve been in those shoes pregant and not and it ain’t a happy place to be.I know I didn’t deserve it and I’m sure she didn’t either. So I don’t see it as passing judgement when anyone can see wrong is just wrong!Those types get what they deserve sooner or later.So carry on tough guy !!You will soon see just how tough you are!!

Jay resident, that’s the only way they can feel good about themselves is to throw off on someone else. It’s not hard to find something wrong with the other communities, maybe we need to start a list? I don’t live in Jay but is a very nice place, just needs a resturant or two.
You know it is truly ashame that people keep throwing out all these so cute little remarks about Jay.Yes there has been some things happen in Jay that should not have ,but we are not the only place that bad things have happened or bad people have come from.There is crime every where.That is what’s truly sad.Most people in Jay are good hard working people and anyone I know wouldn’t let this trash do something like that and get away with it.It did say he was living in Pace that must be an awful place!! Thank the Lord she’s rescued from the scum bag. Hope those guys in jail give him what he deserves. Maybe cut off the parts he used to hurt her, He needs an eye lift and a nose job too! Our justice system wont do it. They’re not getting any better either, letting too many of em go free.

It’s fantastic the clerk was brave enough to help this woman as he could have looked the other way! He saved her life and is definately a hero.

of interest, escambia court records reflect that he was already out on $1000 bond for an arrest made on 3/22/10 for a felony (repeatedly driving w/suspended license, i believe) …at that time, pace was listed as his city of address..hearing scheduled for april 6th- guess this is the least of his worries.

This is a shame that this man would do something like this to a pregnant woman, I do hope that she and the baby are ok… Thank goodness he is behind bars with no bond where he belongs!
