There’s dirty, and then there’s really dirty. And really dirty barely begins to describe several of the pickup trucks at Northview High School Thursday.

As part of FFA week activities at the school, the group held a school-wide “Dirty Truck Contest”. The Dirtiest Truck Award went to Gavin Hinote.

An entry fee was charged, with all proceeds going toward the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

Half these kids don’t even go mud riding to get their trucks dirty for this contest anyway, when I was at Northview most of them just threw buckets of mud everywhere. Their just having a good time. Stop being so serious everybody, lighten up! You were kids once too! The ones of you who aren’t still kids! And the kids around here don’t need to be advocated ‘unsafe behavior’, i.e. mud riding. Their going to do it rather its mentioned in school or not. Look at where we live! There really isn’t much else to do.

Dirty truck contest or golden cow crap award. Can’t decide which one would be more prestigious to win. :)

Wow, I hope no one took my comment seriously-sorry; I was just having a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun.

I love the ‘carwash fundraiser’ idea, FYI.

THESE KIDS ARE JUST HAVING A LITTLE FUN. NOT CAUSING ANY TROUBLE. WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO KEEP ON WITH THE NEGITIVE COMMENTS? COULD BE DOING WORSE THINGS.

Now they can have a carwash fundraiser! Life’s messy. Clean it up!

I’m guessing the person that called them a redneck didn’t mean it in a bad way. But I’ve never met a redneck that minded being called a redneck!! I’m a redneck , and I associate with rednecks, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!! Go rednecks!

I had a relative die in a mud riding accident, so don’t preach to me, or infringe on my free speech. thanks

Sounds like these students had a GREAT time!!!!! As for the Redneck comment, some of you need to remember the saying that if you can’t say anything nice then keep your comments to yourself. You need to read the article about how these GOOD kids are helping to raise money for Relay for Life!!! GREAT JOB NHS FFA!!!!!

Congratulations Gavin for winning the dirty truck contest, I’m sure you’re gonna have a fun time getting all that mudd off that truck…lol but I’m sure you had fun getting it on there… Just be safe doing this kind of stuff…

I duno, bill; the ‘nanny state’ schools may have advocated unsafe behavior to these young people in order to get them to get their trucks dirty. Oh, and look at the carbons released into the atmosphere by the waste of dirty, nasty petroleum gasoline. Not to mention the water and soap used to clean up that may possibly contaminate the groundwater supply; electricity waste, too.

This just gets worse! Oh my!

dirty, dirty, dirty. Next time have the kids just wallow in the mud. Less expensive that way.
