Pensacola Police have released surveillance images of a suspect they believe is responsible for stealing a computer used to process ultrasound images for Cardiology Consultants, potentially exposing thousands of medical records — many belonging to North Escambia residents.

As we reported Thursday, the computer was stolen December 19, and the group said they become aware of the theft on December 21 and and immediately began a thorough investigation with authorities.

The computer contained the first and last names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, exam dates and in some cases, the reason for the ultrasound for about 8,000 patients.

Pensacola Police Department Detective Chad Willhite said video surveillance shows a man using a security coded keypad to enter the office area on December 19. The man, who was pushing a large gray rolling container, can be seen leaving the office in under two minutes. A short time later he is seen removing an item from the container and placing it into the trunk of a car.

The suspect is a white male in his mid to late 40’s, approximately 5 feet 10 to 6 feet, medium build, with collar length gray wavy hair. He was wearing a gray or white sweatshirt, blue jeans and blue surgical gloves.

Willhite said the car was a 2000 to 2006 four-door Nissan Altima or similar model.

Anyone having information on the incident is asked to contact Detective Chad Willhite at (850) 435-1981 or the Pensacola Police Department at (850) 435-1900.

I still think this looks soooooo much like a lady that worked or works for the school board. She works on computers. Been there awhile. The hips, skinny, wide shoulders, hair. age, I can’t wait until we find out. Hold you catch it.

Come on people, someone out there ought to be able to put that car and that person together…..go ahead and turn them in. They have no right to the computer or the information on it….step up.

I know a woman approx. 36 -38+ age that is this size and shape with hair like this picture who works for the school board on computers. Hummm…….you never know. People these days….well, even “good folks” can fool you.
I do know this lady worked at the schools at the northend and around P’cola. I don’t know if she still works there.

oh, well just a quick glance and it reminded me of her.

The hair does resemble that of a woman but the build definately shows otherwise in my opinion.

The photos from the back if the person’s head almost look like a woman with her hair pulled up in a ball, knot, etc. Does that view look like the same person to anyone else? Just wondering.

Hope Cardiology Consultants Notified the patients in that database of the potential HIPAA privacy violation. It is the law with HIPAA.
