Thanks for joining us today for our 12 hours of live snow coverage here on NorthEscambia.com.

Lots of snow remains on the ground north of I-65, and there is scattered snow between I-65 and the Alabama/Florida line. There is very little, if any, snow remaining on the ground in North Escambia.

Snow was reported across the area in Atmore, Walnut Hill, Century,  Molino, Flomaton and Jay.

Saturday morning we’ll have a complete snow recap, including hundreds of photos that we have not posted today that were taken from North Escambia to Monroeville and Evergreen. We will have our photos, plus dozens more reader submitted photos — even an eight and a half foot tall snowman built by some Flomaton High School students.

snowman-bratt-fla2.jpgDon’t forget to email your snow pictures to news@northescambia.com so that we can run your photos on Saturday morning.

I live in south Escambia county, and really wanted to see some snow. We went to Brewton AL and had a great time. There were snow men everywhere, and people were having a blast. I posted some pics on my blog site also, just visit the link in my signature.

What some gorgeous photo’s, I love the little snowmen; they are so cute… Today was so much fun in Byrneville with the snow. This was my daughters first time ever seeing it snow…

  3. ProudFiremansWife on February 12th, 2010 9:45 pm

We had about 3 inches or so on Old Atmore Road in Flomaton! However, what was on the ground melted pretty fast but other surfaces are still accumilated but slowly melting as well. It was a fascinating day!

Has anyone heard if any roads will be closed from Molino, North? I am working in P-cola and need to know if I can make it home!

  14. Laurie on February 12th, 2010 11:10 am

We live in Davisville and it has been snowing here for probably an hour or so steady….not a whole lot of accumulation though…we also got some earlier this morning at about 7:30. The roof tops look pretty white but the stuff on the ground is melting pretty quick.

  15. me on February 12th, 2010 11:09 am

..DID THE PEOPLE WHO WENT INTO THE WATER DITCH ON HWY 29? ARE THEY OK?

  20. Angi on February 12th, 2010 10:21 am

@ April… No I really don’t think it would be a good idea to drive to Bayminette tonight, not with all of this mixed rain, sleet and snow…

@ Northview mom… I do hope that your friends are ok after sliding into a ditch, not a good idea to be on the roads right now…

Byrneville area… It keeps changing back and forth from rain, sleet and snow; I wish it would just continueously snow, the kids did have so much fun while it was coming down snow pretty hard earlier this morning, even my neighbors dog had loads of fun, she was jumping up and catching the snow in her mouth…lol

  21. molinojim on February 12th, 2010 10:21 am

There were some big wet maybe snow flakes in Molino—but is back to rain now. Had a vehicle go off 97 about one mile north of 29. They ended up in a ditch filled with water—hello insurance company. I wonder if the Geico lizard can pull a car filled with water.

  22. becky on February 12th, 2010 10:05 am

yea it’s turn back to rain here and yea there is a car in a ditch with water on hwy 21 near j mar trucking.

  23. Carrie Bryan on February 12th, 2010 9:53 am

It’s raining again in Byrneville. But my kids did get to have a small snowball fight. Hopefully more snow soon!

  24. observer on February 12th, 2010 9:51 am

I live in Walnut Hill and it was coming down pretty good at around 8ish….Now im in atmore and its just raining. is it supposed to pick back up?

  25. MexiaMama on February 12th, 2010 9:46 am

The picture from earlier in Mexia doesn’t do any justice to the amount of snow we have now. It’s really coming down hard. I’m estimating around 3 inches here so far. We measured 2 inches earlier in our footsteps and the foot prints are almost completely filled back in with snow again. It’s beautiful!

  26. Jennifer on February 12th, 2010 9:46 am

Well mainly all its doing here in the Bratt/Davisville area is raining but it keeps switching back and forth from rain to snow. Mybe it’ll pick one soon.

  27. Ray W Hudson on February 12th, 2010 9:25 am

Mixed here in Brewton, snow rain ice…

  28. LULU on February 12th, 2010 9:21 am

It’s “slushing” in Davisville, with occasional snow.

  29. whitepunknotondope on February 12th, 2010 9:16 am

If you have to drive, a front-wheel drive car is preferable than a rear wheel drive truck. If all you have is a truck, place weight in the bed (sandbags, whatever) and you can also deflate your tires to about 20psi to get better grip. Use low gears, try not to hit the brakes suddenly, and believe it or not you may get better traction from that strip of snow or ice along the edge of the road than you get from the two tires tracks down the middle.

If you get stuck (spinning tires) you may be able to use your floor mats for traction to get you moving again.

Been there many times, done all that!

  30. Old days on February 12th, 2010 9:12 am

Nothing but rain in Cottage Hill. Darn! I wanted some snow.
