Santa Rosa Man Dies From H1N1

February 11, 2010

The H1N1 flu is now being blamed for the death of an area resident.

The Santa Rosa County Health Department has received confirmation that the death of a 34-year old man was related to H1N1. His identity and community of residence will not be released.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the family,” said Sandra L. Park, Santa Rosa County Health Department administrator.  “The loss of a loved one is always a tragedy.”

It was the second H1n1 death in the county; a 52-year old man died in September. In Florida, the deaths of 202 have been associated with H1N1, and over 1,233 have been hospitalized with confirmed H1N1.

The H1N1 flu vaccine is still available at health departments in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Didn’t a 21 year old male in Pace die from the virus back last fall?

You can still get your H1N1 shot at walgreen’s.
I got one about 2 weeks ago.

    This is preventable!

    Hugs to this family!

Sorry for this families loss, this epidemic of H1N1 (swine flu) is horrible. There have been so many people to get this, me and my daughter for one and it is strange, because it affects people in different ways too…
