How in the world did this have anything to do with race? This young man was arrested for VOP.

In Alabama, municipal judges are hired by towns-appeals go their decisions are heard by circuit court judges; all other judges (district, circuit, etc) are elected; in Florida, they are elected at the county and state level, then other judges are appointed and retained by vote. Again, how did this have anything to do with the story?

The man plead out, was sentenced and violated the terms of his probation and was arrested. The court will mete out a new sentence. Isn’t that how the system is supposed to work?

So “none of your business”, from your post, you’ve automatically assumed that the Black men and women that I was referring to in my post were repeat offenders. LOL. Typical. Anyway, these guys weren’t. They were first time offenders as well, many late aged teens. Blondie, first correct your grammatical errors and repost so that I can fully understand what it is that you are trying to convey.(BTW, it’s okay to have a few gramm errors every now and then). “Know your Neighbor”, municipal judges are not elected and trial judges are appointed by the governor when there are resignations and retirees, and we’ve had that happen numerous times in escambia co, al here lately all others are elected and that doesn’t matter here in this county. We live in the Republican South. What world do you live in. Elected or not, race is still the issue and has been for as long as I remember. There is no way in justifying the facts and I have given you nothing other than facts in discussing the cases that I know of. I will retire this post, whatever is said afterwards, Is of no concern of mine because it seems that justifying wrong is all that has been done here. There is no way around justifying wrong and being biased, so face the facts and wake up. That is all.

    I dn’t think it’s a race thing.
I think it’s about if this guy was first time offender! If this guy pleaded
quilty and acted contrite and agreed to go into rehab and much, much
    more.

HOWEVER that being said, was this a just sentence. HECK NO!
This guy had cocane, mary jane, and two different kinds of
prescription pills, that he didn’t have prescriptions for.
Time to pay the piper. I don’t want this druggie out on the street
with me till he pays the time, AND THEN GOES TO DRUG REHAB
FOR ABOUT A YEAR. Most drug rehabs don’t even work the first
time. They get out and within 30 days poof, it all goes up in smoke.
As in Mary Jane in a bongggggg. no pun intended.
    I don’t trust this guy.

Are judges elected? Well if so don’t you think if they through every one in jail for the first offence they would not get relected. On the other hand , it’s all about the money. Don’t ever forget that. Starting with the lawyers and then the judges.

Wait a minute..Probation? Talk about a double standard…That’s how it is in these small towns…race and class is how these judges determine sentencing..I have friends who happen to not be white who had lesser counts than this young man and had posession of drugs such as marijuana ONLY and got anywhere from 5-15 years of jail time…and judges wonder why they have to walk around carrying pistols(as reported in the news in december). This is also the reason they have to go all the way to birmingham to grocery shop [have u ever seen any of the judges and lawyers in this county out in public? No}… (afraid of the public and the way they have wronged these individuals in this county)…Obviously, this guy needs to serve time, probation just was not enough..doesn’t seem as though he learned his lesson.
