Cool, Windy Weekend; Escambia River Flood Warning

It’s going to be a windy and cool Super Bowl weekend in North Escambia, and flood warnings are in effect for a slowly rising Escambia River.

Here is your official North Escambia area forecast:

  • Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Wind chill values between 25 and 35 early. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.
  • Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 59. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast.
  • Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. South wind around 10 mph.
  • Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 60. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.
  • Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.
  • Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56.
  • Thursday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 36.
  • Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 53.

The Flood Warning continues for the Escambia River near Century until further notice. At 8 p.m. Friday the stage was 18.5 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 17 feet. The river will continue rising to near 18.8 feet by Sunday early afternoon then begin falling on Monday afternoon.
