Century To Explore Elm Street Fix

February 7, 2010

The Town of Century will spend just of $5,000 for engineering work to eliminate stormwater problems on Elm Street.

The road often washes out or is undermined during heavy rains. The town will pay Fabre Engineering $5,200 to design a fix, and the town’s road department will implement the fix based upon the engineering firm’s plans.

“This is something I really believe needs to be done,” said Gary Riley, Century council member.

Something was mentioned a few weeks ago about paving all the streets in Century. I hope the town will get water lines and gas lines up to par before that happens. It won’t do any good if they have to turn around and start cutting streets into fix problems after they have been repaved.

I hope there IS a fix. If there is, I’m sure Fabre can find it. Top notch people there.
