Schools Cancel All Outdoor Activities

January 8, 2010

The Escambia County (Fla.) School District canceled all outdoor events planned for Friday and Saturday due to the extremely cold temperatures.

District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions next week regarding outdoor events to determine if further cancellations are warranted, according to Linda English, district spokesperson.

    HOW SILLY SANDY!
Teachers don’t make the call. The superintendent and school board does.
I hope you are still in school your spelling needs a little work. SMILES

Just catching the bus is cold enough early in the morning. That wind is ssoooooo cold. I am thankful someone is trying to look out for my children.

I agree a good many of our children are a little spoiled but not all are. As you ride the local roads at night play a little game of “Count how many Houses you would rather live in and how many need help” I just believe more blessing will show up. Remember to pray for those who do need help. Are do an act of Kindness.

The way I see it, you make it so kids cant go outside and experience the unseasonably cool weather…

However, Id bet money that Tomorrow morning (Saturday) these same kids will be outside playing…and the older kids will somehow manage to brave the actic blast to walk from a car to the entrance to the mall.

up north, adults get up early and shovel the snow so their kids can go stand at the curb and wait for the bus. At recess, practices…you cope with the snow.

Life doesnt just stop because it gets cold. Throw on a coat, a stocking hat…maybe a pair of gloves if you have “soft hands”…and do what you got to do.

Up north, they dont cancel crap because it gets hot and humid.

eh…In real life, adults dont get the option to be in or out of the cold….sometimes you’ve got to suck it up, grit your teeth and cope. It may not be fun, and you may not be comfortable. But COLD HAPPENS.

Kids today are going to be too soft when they grow up…
