Northview Students Plant 50 Cypress Trees For Arbor Day
January 21, 2010
Wednesday, agriscience students at Northview High School planted 50 bald cypress trees along the edge of the school’s retention pond. The trees were provided by, and planted under the supervision of, the Florida Division of Forestry in observance of Arbor Day.

Oh and to the teacher who coordinated this effort.
GOOD JOB BUDDY!
YOURS A GREAT TEACHER!
I’m with thinker.
The froggies are going to love it, and we all need to help out
where they are concerned. That goes for all the animals around
that need our help, and less intervention of the wrong type!
This is also so great of the kids. They will remember doing
this and be proud of themselves for it forever. They will
also have a much healthier respect for our environment.
Three cheers.
I’ve always wondered why the pond at Hurricane Park in Flomaton is so nearly void of vegetation supporting pond life. My guess is that it’s a fear of snakes, as if the town is liable for snake bites. Today bald cypress, tomorrow arrowhead? We need a place for frogs to thrive, to offset their general demise in recent years.
I can’t wait to see them grow up! Thanks for doing this!
I know the ducks that live on the pond will like them.
