Manhunt Turns Up Empty After Attempted Robbery In Atmore

A manhunt for two attempted robbery suspects turned up empty Thursday night in Atmore
Two black males reportedly attempted to rob the Rapid Return Tax Services office on North Main Street a little before 7:00 Thursday night. One was described as wearing a dark color hoodie jacket and white shoes. The men fled the store on foot.
Atmore Police set up a perimeter and called for tracking dogs from the Fountain Correctional Facility. The suspects’ trail was tracked north of the robbery location, but no arrests were immediately reported.

I was in the area when I heard the sirens go off. My first thought was a gas leak or train derailment. I hope the guys are caught and jailed. There is no excuse for grown, able bodied people to steal. Work, yes—Steal, no. I grew up hearing Granny say, “Anybody who will steal, will kill.” They have no conscience.
Amen J Bird…The newspapers rarely print articles about the home burglaries and robberies in Atmore…Just talk to the police and they will tell you Atmore is not the safe, cute little town the newspapers make it out to be.
Mr Mann, employment opportunities cannot be blamed for the action of these two men. I myself am out of work and do not resort to robbing and stealing. First of all Atmore has never been a place for job oppertunities. A lot of people in the Atmore area go out of town for work and always have. The real issue is that Atmore is being overtaken by drugs and violence. That is why most decent people are leaving the area!!
If there were any jobs in Atmore, perhaps they may have worked. Get some industries inthe town, instead of assuming. These guys could have been fully underemployed. Perhaps they were the working poor, and desperate.
Sounds like they went in for a RAPID REFUND…am sure they were good tax paying citizens….also sounds like they filed a 1040 SHORT FORM..dont take long to rob a tax place I guess…that would be a good advertisement..IN AND OUT IN A FLASH
