Allison Woodfin Named Junior Miss EWMS Tonight

Allison Woodfin was named Junior Miss EWMS tonight at Ernest Ward Middle School.

Miss Autumn Ates
Age 13, 7th Grade
Autumn has received several awards including first grade highest academic average, A Honor Roll, second grade good citizenship, fifth grade achievement for accelerated reading, President’s Education Awards program signed by the President, good citizenship, writing award, A and B honor roll, 6th grade A and B honor roll, most outstanding award in Workforce Education, Top Gun Award, and 2nd place award in track. Her past activities include softball, track, and cheerleading. She enjoys swimming, cheerleading, softball, and art. She plans to graduate high school and go to college. After college, she plans to get married and start a family.
Miss Kaitlyn Abbott
Age 12, 6th Grade
Kaitlyn is a member of the EWMS volleyball and basketball teams. She is also a member of the Future Farmers of America, Student Government Association, and yearbook staff. Kaitlyn was the 2009 South Mississippi Sweetheart Beauty Queen and placed first in both the Dance Twirl and Beauty in Costume Divisions. She ranked top four in the EWMS Talent Show. She competed in the 2009 Spring Fling pageant and placed first runner-up. She also placed first in the Spring Fling twirling competition in both Dance Twirl and Rythmn Twirl. Kaitlyn was the 2009 Twirltacular Extravaganza team leader and place first. She also place first in the Twirltacular Basic Strut, Military Strut, and Grand Championship. Kaitlyn enjoys baton twirling, dancing, playing the piano, and entertaining her three little sisters. She plans to go to college and become a pediatrician.
Miss Victoria Wright
Age 14, 8th Grade
Victoria is a member of the EWMS yearbook staff and newspaper staff. She is president of the Honor Society and vice-president of the Student Government Association. She is also a member of the EWMS band. She has received 13 awards in the last year for outstanding work and maintains a 4.0 GPA. Victoria won the Patriots Pen essay contest through the VFW Post 7016 in Atmore, Alabama two years running. She made the girls U13 state soccer team in Ohio as first draft center mid. She also received third place in a Robotics competition. She enjoys soccer, hanging out with her friends, shopping, and duct tape. She plans to attend college and play soccer on the college level.
Miss Laurie Purdy
Age 11, 6th Grade
Laurie enjoys softball, swimming, and tennis. In fifth grade, Laurie received an award for perfect attendance. Laurie also enjoys reading, playing with bugs and worms, and collecting green things. She plans to go to college and become a veterinarian.
Miss Alexis Walston
Age 11, 6th Grade
Alexis has participated in baton, ballet, and tee ball. She has participated in both the Cinderella and Strawberry pageants. In the past year, Laurie has participated in softball, cheerleading, and band. She has received awards for Student of the Month and best behavior. She enjoys gymnastics, reading books, cheering, and dancing. She plans to go to college at the University of Florida.
Miss Kachanne Thomas
Age 14, 8th Grade
Kachanne enjoys cheerleading, volleyball, and softball. She has placed first and second in beauty pageants in the past and was named homecoming first runner-up at age 12. She plans to graduate high school and go to college. After college, she plans to get married and start a family.
Miss Ariel Walters
Age 14, 7th Grade
Ariel is a member of the EWMS chorus. She enjoys attending school and going to church. Ariel also enjoys singing, joking, and hanging out with friends and family. She loves animals and plans to be a veterinarian.
Miss Allison Woodfin
Age 12, 6th Grade
Allison is a member of the EWMS Future Farmers of America, Lady Eagles basketball team, Molino recreation softball and Walnut Hill Baptist Church youth group. She has received awards for A and B honor roll, perfect attendance, and citizenship. She was a member of the first place Sunshine Math Competition Team for Molino Park and received the Sons of American Revolution Good Citizenship Award. She enjoys scrapbooking, fishing, riding four-wheelers, playing Wii games, and shopping with friends. She plans to attend the University of West Florida to become a physical therapist.
Miss Kendal Cobb
Age 12, 7th Grade
Kendal is a member of the EWMS cheerleading squad. She has been a member of the yearbook staff for two years, a member of the Student Government Association for one year, and a member of Angie Shelly’s Twirl Time for six years. Kendal was the 2009 Miss Bambino. She is a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church. She participates in NWE softball and all-stars. She enjoys hunting, fishing, softball, golf, twirling, and cheering. She plans to go to college at the University of Alabama and become a pediatrician.
Miss Karmen Watson
Age 13, 8th Grade
Karmen is a member of the EWMS swim team and track team. She is a member of the Future Farmers of America and is also a member of the Atmore First Baptist Church youth group. She enjoys dirt bikes, being creative with photography, going to church, and spending time with friends and family. She plans to attend school in New York City and to pursue a career in the field of model photography.
Miss Morgan Ward
Age 12, 7th Grade
Morgan is a member of the EWMS Student Government Association, Honor Society, and swim team. She was the 2009-2010 winner of the EWMS Talent Show. She has been a member of the Eagles cheerleading squad for two years and competed with the cheerleaders in the 2009 UCA Nationals in Orlando, Florida, placing second. She will be attending the National competition again this February. Morgan is an active member in her church where she helps with the children’s church program, drama team, and choir. Her church choir recently competed and won second place in the Fine Arts competition at the state level. Morgan enjoys shopping, cheering, swimming, going to church, and hanging with friends and family. She plans to go to college and teach on the elementary school level.
Miss Hope Coggins
Age 13, 7th Grade
Hope enjoys softball, swimming, football, and cheerleading. She has received awards in cheerleading, softball, and track and field. Her future plans are to go to college and become a physical education teacher.
Miss Mariah Albritton
Age 13, 8th Grade
Mariah has been a cheerleader for two years at EWMS. She has also been a member of the Eagles basketball team and swim team as well as the EWMS Student Government Association. She is an active member of her church, Atmore First Assembly of God, and is a member of the youth choir that competed on the state level and won first place. She also participates in the church’s drama program. She has received Top Gun and honor roll awards every year. Mariah enjoys Facebook, anything to do with computers, texting, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. Her future plans are to go to college to study dentistry and to become an orthodontist.
Miss Sabrina Cox
Age 13, 7th Grade
Sabrina enjoys singing, dancing, and track and field. She has received awards for A and B honor roll and softball. She plans to go to college and become a judge or lawyer.
Miss Ashlynn Webster
Age 13, 7th Grade
Ashlynn enjoys cheerleading, baton, color guard, and dance. She performs every year in parades and recitals. She is musically talented. She plays the piano, clarinet, and recorder. She has won awards for her musical skills in piano competitions. She also loves to dance and choreograph routines. Ashlynn’s future plans include dancing and becoming a lawyer.
