Commission To Consider Time Line To Replace Administrator

January 7, 2010

Today, the Escambia County Commission will consider a plan for hiring an acting county administrator to replace County Administrator Bob McLaughlin.

Sounds like the BOCC either knows that consolidation isn’t going to pass or they see things aren’t going to go their way with consolidation and so they are going to withdraw their support for it and stop pushing it. Just a thought…

Well, looks like the commisioners have a job ahead of them. Maybe they should have thought this out a little longer. Very few candidates will be interested in a job that may be eliminated if consolidation goes through. Mr. McLaughlin may be a good choice for the short term. One you know can be better than someone unknown. JUST A THOUGHT!

Wouldn’t this position be affected by the potential consolidation? Anyone worth their salt is going to research this area’s issues and require a contract that will protect them in the event consolidation eliminates their position (as they’d be at the bottom of the seniority totem pole). That could be VERY costly.
