Boy Scouts Prep 1,000 Pine Seedlings
January 17, 2010
An area Boy Scout troop spent a rainy Saturday at the Florida Division of Forestry in Molino preparing about 1,000 pine tree seedlings for donation or planting. The members of Troop 608 planted some of the trees on Molino property. Most will be planted at an Arbor Day observance Tuesday at Benny Russell Elementary in Milton, and others will be planted in various locations in Escambia County. The Scouts were joined by State Rep. Dave Murzin who organized the event. Submitted photos by Russell Merrill for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

To those asking about local Scout units, there are Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops in Brewton, Flomaton and Atmore.
All need to understand one thing about Scouts. For every successful scout project, there are parents working behind the scene. Most of the projects done by the scouts are for the benefit to the community. Many thanks to all the parents and organizers for helping the boys become young men and better people.
Boys building a future for when they are men.
Bravo to leaders and scouts.
Thank you, Dave. Appreciate the info.

Great job, indeed, y’all!
It’s stories of youth @ work such as these young gentlemen {and I think I notice a little lady in there, as well!} that gives me REAL HOPE for the future.
My son has also inquired about Boy Scouts. Is there a local chapter?
Great Job Guys…
Wow! Great job guys! Is there a troop that meets up here in Molino for our young boys? If so, I would love to know, my son has asked about Boy Scouts on more than one occasion. Last time I checked though, I think the closest one was down in Pensacola. If anyone knows, please advise.
