treegallery.jpgA Molino home hit by a tree during last Wednesday morning’s storms has now been declared a total loss.

The wood frame house at 1218 Betts Avenue was struck by a tree during the early morning hours Wednesday as a powerful storm system moved across North Escambia.

Family members tell us that their insurance company now says the home can’t be repaired.

Yes,I think it all is in the adjustor….during Ivan,we had a huge oak tree fall on our house, causing us to lose all three bedrooms!!! It was horrible to see the inside of our home destroyed!! We had to replace 8 trusses, walls, carpets, paint and that’s includes all the clothes and furniture that were in it’s path ….it also caused damage to the carpets and walls throughout the house…it was a devastating ordeal….but the adjustor said it can all be fixed!!! Roof, also!! The damage to this house doesn’t look anything like ours !!!! Not nearly as bad…..so,who knows????

Isn’t it actually better in the long run to be a total loss, than “close” to one? I would think they’ll be able to build a new home and the insurance would cover it.

    You need to see inside.

I agree, it looks like it could be fixed; I know this has to be hard on this family… I wish you all well, and hope they will pay for your home to be fixed or at least pay you enough to have another one built…

From the looks of the pictures, the house could be fixed. I’d give you $20k for that ‘total loss’.
