West Florida is an “outstanding” school with many more opportunities offered to the students. It is up to the student to achieve their goals. I would highly recommend this school to anyone in search of a bright future.

WFHS opened the year after I graduated. I went to northview 4 long hooorrriiibbblllee years. MY OPINION, I don’t think Northview is a fair school If WFHS would have been opened while I was in high school, Northview wouldn’t have seen my face, but on the same accord, the children that are attending NHS. Strive hard and pass, but I think that WFHS is a better school. Yea you might get tired of the bus ride and getting up early in the morning to go to school ALL the way to Pensacola, but remember, its CALLED DETERMINATION. TO ALL STUDENTS NO MATTER WHAT SCHOOL YOU ATTEND, TRY TO STAY ENCOURAGE AND TRY NOT TO LET ANYTHING OR ANY ONE DISCOURANGE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If selected to attend West FL really think about it seriously. Once you turn down the chance you will not get it back. I can see why students don’t continue to pursue education or employment in their field of study. Do you really think that 13-15 year olds know what they want to be when they grow up? Do your research and see what schools offer the best opportunities for you. Don’t miss your application deadlines. Something else I learned…Northview doesn’t offer dual enrollment classes so if you are college bound after high school this may not be the best option.

The concept of having West Tech High is probably well intentioned; however, I don’t believe that the school is providing the best bang for the buck for the district as evidenced by the seniors who were called out during the NHS / West Tech game. Only one student, of the dozen or so who were recognized that night prior to the game, was continuing to pursue education or employment in the field of study for which she went to West Tech for. So if less than 10% of the students are following through with their technical training at the school, what’s the point of going there or even spending district dollars for keeping it?

I am proud to say GO JAGS!!!!!!!!
I personally think WFHS is an amazing school. The teachers are great and there are so many different types of students. You will never feel left out at this school since there are so many different types. I am in the Criminal Justice program at WFHS and let me just say this, if you want to take Criminal Justice for your career program DO IT. It is amazing, Mr. Russo the teacher is amazing. The other career classes are great to. Good luck to whoever is putting in an application!!!!!!! You definetly will not regret it if you get it.
