    To all who have concern’s:

It isn’t the lack of flashing or active red lights. It’s the mere fact that as we have all said, “No one pays attention anymore.” There was once a time where our local and state law enforcement officers were able to monitor and ticket those who violate traffic law, yes even right there in that same area you’re all addressing. . But because of STATE BUDGET CUTS and staff cuts the county doesn’t have the funds to monitor our highways as they were able to do in the past. If there is a STATE LEO patrolling the area you can almost bet that same officer is called 30 to 50 miles away to handle the same type of accident elsewhere. If there is a county officer he/she may be doing the same in the opposite direction. My point is, polling for a light isn’t going to bring you anymore benefit than a light sitting within the city of Pensacola where accidents happen on a daily basis.

If you all want our laws changed, addressed or raised concerns from our traffic to, gun control, where our teens are shooting one another, to break in and assaulting cheerleaders or the elderly. As it’s been shown that crime despite it’s level and degree doesn’t show a age or race to be a victim. At some level we are all being victimized so, pull together, intelligently and get the laws addressed and or modified. It isn’t to be done here. Certainly feel free to discuss and share your opinions with each other. What I’m saying is if you want change just know it will not be done through a blog. With each and every concern I have ever read on these blogs, it all needs to be address at your “STATE LEGISLATOR.” So contact your state/local government officials. Speak out and be heard in a manor that will go beyond a typed concern here within the site. Because entrust they, they being the persons that are in charge or changing, adding or modifying our laws, they are NOT sitting here reading these blogs, and they are certainly not addressing the concerns that you all share collectively and or as individuals. Your voices must be heard and at the highest levels.

I didn’t write this to step on anyone’s toes or hurt anyone’s feelings, so if my entry has done such I do apologize. I did write this for you to address your concerns where they will be heard collectively/individually.

Good luck and God bless us all!

It would not matter if you put up a light, they will still run it, people just need to pay attention, and as long as your human you are going to have accidents. This is not 9 mile or Davis up here, maybe in another 10 years but right now all a light would do is cause people to forget and run it and then how many will be injured or loose thier lives? Slow down and pay attention….

Government control? What does a redlight have to do with the govt? And common sense would definitely solve the problem, but that is apparently lacking. And for those of you who are afraid it make take half a day to get across town if they keep adding traffic lights…so what! Lives are at stake. Ignorant and careless, and wreckless drivers are not gonna go away. A red light is needed at that intersection to organize the going and coming of traffic. We have impatient people crossing in front of speeding cars. We have people misjudging traffic. We have people who don`t know how to use a median, and people who don`t know who has the right of way in any given situation. Rules are in place for a reason. Traffic lights are in place for a reason. Not just to get on yall`s nerves.

i been living up here for 8 years now and no one pays attention to the highways…everyone is in a hurry and don’t want to pay attention to the roads…my god this is what happens, accident…chill out and pay attention.happy to hear no one got hurt though.wish this area was more safer….but it won’t be unless the careless one’s pay attention to the highways, and roads.

Just what we need, more government control in our lives. Common sense should didctate how one crosses intesections, instead we get the government to regulate everything, smooth move.

Molino road and 29 has had a caution light for well over 10 years now…people just DO NOT pay any attention to it as they do the red light in Cantonment.

Just what we need, a few more traffic lights and reduced speed limits between rte 97 and Pensacola. It won’t be long before the lights go up at every major intersection and it takes half a day to get anywhere. I say put flashing lights on Molino road to warn of a dangerous intersection with rte 29 if anything, leave 29 alone.

The flashing red lights at the intersection of rtes 97 with 29 can be seen for 1/2 mile, just what would a traffic light do there that is not already being done? All that a new traffic light would do is drastically increase the number of rear end collisions on both roads.

    Thank you so much BRY!

There also needs to be a regular traffic light at Hwy. 29 and The Atmore Hwy.

I have taken it upon myself to make up a petition to have a traffic light installed at the intersection of US 29 and Molino Road SR 182. Today was the 3rd wreck in 2 1/2 weeks. The Molino road to the West is like a racetrack since it has been resurfaced, it has been like this even before the road was resurfaced. Please take a minute to sign the petition online. The petition is also at Scott’s Pharmacy at the corner of Molino Road and US 29 on the west side. I am in contact with DOT, and this intersection is at the top of the list. If you would like to sign the petition online the address is:

I would appreciate all and any signatures from this end of the county, and even from Alabamians that may travel this route.

We need to all be more careful, and watch out for those that are not paying attention to what they are doing. Bill, you are right those cell phones need to go when they are driving. I know I am a good driver and a curteous one, but it makes me so tensed to have to watch out for all the nuts that don’t care.

You people need to pay attention when your driving and get off the phones!!
