Florida Frontier Telephone Customers Experience Temporary Calling Problem

November 5, 2009

(Updated) Frontier Communications customers in the 327 and 587 exchanges lost the ability to call telephone numbers outside of the Frontier system for a short time Thursday afternoon.

Cereal Daniel, Frontier’s local manager, said the problem esd outside the Frontier network. He said AT&T worked to isolate the problem and repair it as soon as possible.

Most 327 and 587 phone exchange customers were able to call numbers in those exchanges and well as Frontier customers in Atmore. Most Molino and Walnut Hill exchange customers were unable to call Pensacola and were not be able to complete some or all long distance calls.

The problem was repaired by about 3:40 p.m. for most customers.

Thanks, William. I didn’t know about the transformer fire. It just seems like every time I turn around my power is out. And, just me – I am right there with ya on the DSL service from frontier. I work from home and it is so frustrating!

It’s a good thing that there is not a notice like this article every time Fontier’s DSL service is not working. I think they have the most unreliable service available.

The key word is “most” customers. Get ready for more lies from Frontier……but they want you to pay your bill without good service. phone lines humming to the point you can not have a conversation with anyone…so put up the cell phone at least it works better!

My first thought was to email William at northescambia.com . I knew he’d find out something if he didn’t already know! I didn’t even bother to contact the phone company. He emailed me back to say he’d just posted a story about it.

I called Frontier several hours after the outage. They did not know a thing about it. I checked northescambia.com and they had known about it. Go figure. Go William!

Molino Momma — the power outage today was the result of a transformer fire at South Hwy 99 and the railroad tracks. — William

At least you had power! Today, Thursday Nov 5, power for EREC customers up my way went out about 11:15 for about an hour! It goes out all the time for up to 2 and 3 hrs at a time. It is so frustrating – it’s like they just turn the switch off and on whenever they feel like it up in Jay!

I tried to call repair service at Frontier 4 times. Each time, I would get the automated phone system, when I finally would get to the “residential” choice, I would be disconnected. Yes, 4 times..and long distance at that! I finally went online and reported the problem there. Aggravating situation!
