Murzin Appointed To Council On Military Base And Mission Support

October 4, 2009

Rep. Dave Murzin has been appointed to the Florida Council on Military Base and Mission Support.

“It is a great honor to have been appointed to this position,” said Murzin. “The Council will be an essential element in maintaining the military presence here in Florida. The military is vital to our economy.”

Last June, a House bill sponsored by Murzin was signed into law creating the Florida Council on Military Base and Mission Support. The council is responsible for providing community and state support to the 20 installations and three unified commands in Florida that would not only keep current infrastructure intact, but also promote the transfer of more military assets to Florida. The council is made up of gubernatorial appointees and House and Senate members. The council is tasked with strengthening Florida’s relationships with the military and help prevent any future base realignment rounds from negatively impacting the state.

Murzin said he is thankful for the opportunity to serve on the council, and that he is looking forward to working with the other council members.

Rep Murzin…thank you for sponsoring this legislation. we should take the information re: the value and impact of military/defense activities in Florida to the public at large. There are organizations and paramilitary groups that would welcome the opportunity to “get the word out” . The dollars and jobs and overall impact here in Florida should be well know facts by our citizinry. If you wish assistance getting the “word out” at the grass roots level….i’m at your service.
    Thank you…….
    Respectfully
