Bond Set At $1 Million In Baby’s Death

Bond was set at $1 million Wednesday for the woman prosecutors say threw her dead infant daughter into a trash can and left two of her other children alone while she reported them missing.
Christian Rochelle Woods, 21, is charged with manslaughter and two counts of child abuse for leaving the children, ages 18-month and two years, home alone for two days in a home with no power or water. The children were left with only a few cups of Jello to eat.
Authorities said Wednesday that the little girl found in the trashcan, Myleahya Woods (pictured left), weighed just 11 pounds. Prosecutors say she starved to death. The other two children found in the home, Myleahya ’s twin sister, Mykayhala (pictured right) and Jaterius Woods, 2, were also severely malnourished. When deputies found Mykayhala under a bed in the filthy Escambia County home, she was in a coma. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said deputies first thought Mykayhala was dead until her eyes fluttered.
Woods called deputies on Monday to report that her children were missing. But deputies became suspicious. They found Jaterius and arrested Woods on child neglect charges because he showed what they said was obvious signs of abuse. About 12 hours after her arrest, Woods admitted that Myleahya was dead in a trashcan on the back porch of her home.
Prosecutors said Woods’ family members had no idea what was going on with the children, and that she never asked for help.
The State Attorney’s office argued Wednesday that if Woods would treat her own children in such a manner, she was a risk if released on bond.
Her next court day is November 6 for an arraignment hearing.

I agree we need to pray for full recovery of the 2 babies, the 3rd does not need our prayers…..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, PRAYER can be doing an action that id going to help someone….like contacting your legislators …..do it now, please, don’t say – aah I will do it when I have more time or when I can put together a well thought out letter…….please just do it, you may not just save lives, but you may give some children a chance to have a life worth living…….. here is the address, please do it, it is free, won’t take long and youwill feel good after you do it and it wont make you have a hang-over or get you nant!!!! What was done to these children was just horrific. My heart goes out to them. What needs to be done now is Prayer. We not only need to pray for these children but for other children as well whose situations are the same but has not come to this point. There’s alot going on out there in this evil world that’s unknown at the time and unseen so we need to pray for every situation and Trust God. Just like He brought this to the light and her to open shame He will do the rest as well as punish her it’s not for us to judge and say what she should get The Lord said vengeance is His. We also should not wish harm on each other although alot of us wish and might think she deserves the worse. God is in control and everything is going to go according to his plan.SO JUST PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow! i’m speechless! my husband works with a family friend of these kids and the person told him she left those kids unsupervised for more than 2 days…curious though,think about this…if this person would know about this so called,”parent” leaving her young kids unsupervised..why didn’t someone see this and get help?or the supervision they needed?food,etc? weird if you ask me.if these kids we’re severely malnourished WHY didn’t anyone see this!!!??? my girls will NEVER EVER be without food,shelter,love and a parent…this is yet another tragedy that involved 3 young precious and innocent children that have been treated poorly and yet no one does anything about it…what a sorry government we have!
This woman is sick. She deserves to be punished and never see the day light again. Those innocent babies had no chance to live thanks to her. It is terrible to see young lives go to waste because of ignorance. I hate when children are treated like this.
This female is sick she doesn’t deserve to have children this person is only concerned about herself and she should get the same punishment she gave to these children. This is awful!!!!!! There are to many agencies out there that will help and if not then her family then if not there are people that would help. She needs to be punished and God will punish her for hurting on of his children.
This woman is just not fit to live. Anyone who could treat their children like this deserves to sit in the electric chair.
This world is full of abused children. Former foster parent here for 22 1/2 yrs. Society would never believe just how abused some children have been treated.
There isn’t a place in our country to place these awful people in america. These
children will never over come, no matter how much therapy. They never seem to
heal. My heart goes our to our little children. It seems there is more mothers neglecting & abuseing their children than ever before. There must be a better way
to deal with new young mothers, than send them home, with a welfare check, and
a newborn baby………..to starv or be thrown in a ditch some where. The infants do
not ask to be brought into this world. This society needs to be more careing and
more protective………social workers are over loaded with cases just like this. Society needs to report what you see to protect the children.

please please please, everyone who is reading and/or writing these blogs, take f few minutes to write to your county and state lawmakers. The laws for child abuse are archic…and until they are updated to protect children in the same way we protect adults, elderly, criminals and terrorists nothing is going to change.
Do you think this would be allowed to happen in one of our state or federal maximum security prisons??? HELL NO!!!…Would we even be allowed to treat terrorists this way. unh un.
But children, don’t vote, dont pay taxes and so they really don’t have any rights.
Take a few moments to log on to your state government sites. And, read and wheep after you read the laws that are supposed to protect our children. They vary from state to state, but basically they are all the same.
Basically, you can do anything you want or dont want to your child as long as you don’t mame them, casue harm to any of their vital organs or kill then either physically for from neglect…oy yess, they don’t ever like to use the ABUSE word, they prefer the tems—neglect or maltreatment.. Abuse is saved for chldren that die.
1760 children died in the USA in 2007, 1530 in 2006, these are statistics publised by our government. Just imagine how many children had not died but have lived and continue to live in horriic conditions like this.

If a mother takes her child to the hospital, she will be charged with criminal abandonment, child neglect and endangerment. The rule to which you are referring refers ONLY to newborns, not to older children.
Yet another of the many rules that hurt more than they help….sigh.
The only reason I can think of why someone would do something this horrible is because they are just down right evil or to benefit them.I have seen so many cases that parents keep children for selfish reasons.They care about nothing but themselves but won’t recieve food stamps or a monthly check if they give them up.I don’t know if this was the case here but won’t be suprised if it is.Looks like she was stuffing her mouth somehow while those poor babies starved.If the law would allow are system to treat these people the way they treat their children maybe they would think twice but instead they lock them up and give them three hot meals a day and taxpayers pay the bill.Maybe someday someone will wake up.I just pray these children don’t have to suffer another day in their lives and this woman does not have a another good night sleep the rest of her life.
I would love to take these two children and give them the love that they deserve!! Their so called mother deserves to be treated just as she treated them!! and be sure that when she goes to jail she wont miss any meals!!! even though she didnt miss any before either!! this is a very sad story and my heart goes out to the poor children…..this kind of mess just makes my heart hurt soo bad!
I feel so sorry for those poor children for having to suffer at the hands of the one that is supposed to love and protect them above all. Those beautiful children deserved so much more. I pray that the two siblings that are left will be placed with a loving family that will give them the love that they need. Those are beautiful children and deserve to be loved!
i read the PNJ and it read that the house was “full of food” in the pantry and the fridge.The lights did not get cut off until Monday around 2,their was no running water.My thing is some one would have given her water or the money to pay the water and light bill.Their is organization that will help when family wont or cant.Unless she had done that over the limit.Its hard to understand how can a person feed themselve and not thier kids and food was thier at the home.From reading the PNJ her mother and father is living,but stated they did not know.How long has it been since they saw thier grandkids.For that child to be that little,she was unfeed for a long time.The mother looks like she hasnt skipped a meal at all.I dont believe she is mental,she may not have been able to deal with life struggles but my opinion is she was not mental.She worked at McD’S,Wendys and West.IF she was able to work at West which is a Telecommunication company ,she was far for Mental.May she will tell what happen and why she did it..

My heart goes out to the poor children. It is so sad knowing these poor children had to go throught this. They are so helpless. This is no mother. What’s really sad is that there is so many women out there that can not have babies of their own or it’s very hard to have them and would take anyones children that didn’t wnat them. why don’t the mothers that treat their children or hurt their children like this just take them to a hospital and just leave them so they are unharmed. no questions asked but instead they just do this. We are living in the last days.
