Northview To Hold First-Ever Homecoming Parade
September 21, 2009
Northview High School will hold its first annual homecoming parade this year on October 2. The school, founded in 1996, has never had a homecoming parade outside the school campus.
The homecoming parade will leave Bratt Elementary School at 12:30 on Friday, October 2 and proceed east on Highway 4 to Northview High. The school is currently seeking entries for the parade. There is no charge to enter, but all entries must be approved by the sponsoring Northview DCT class.
Units already entered in the parade include the Tribal Beat band, Northview cheerleaders, NHS ROTC, Ernest Ward Middle School cheerleaders, Poarch Fire Department and Princess Danielle Martin, NHS Mascot Raylin Spence and floats from the senior, junior, sophomore and freshmen classes.
Everyone is encouraged to support the Chiefs and line the route for this first annual Northview High School homecoming parade.
To enter the parade, call the school at (850) 327-6681 ext. 254.

What took so long? Some of my best moments at Century High(Class of 90) were centered around homecoming. I hope all the students enjoy the festivities. Good luck Chiefs.
I am so proud of our students at NHS and what about those seniors we have a wonderfull senior class!! I remember when my son was at EWMS they were the largest number for junior honor society and now they are seniors , How proud we all should be .
We would like to have any former football players, cheerleaders, band members or students from Century, Ernest Ward,or Northview to participate in the parade. Please contact the DCT class at 327-6681 ext.254 and let us know if you can participate.
Thanks to Mr.Weaver for putting this together and thanks to the DCT class for the hard work ahead!!!!
I think this is great, I hope they can work somthing out for the students at EWMS, I’m sure there are students that won’t be able to go to the game so this would be nice for them all to see !!
Go Chiefs!!!!!!
We did have some great times in high school with the floats, parades, dances and all the other events associated with Homecoming.
With all the work the students put into the floats, I am glad to see the parade this year. Go Chiefs!!!!! Have fun students, and please be safe during the week of homecoming week while making some great memories!
I am so glad to hear that Northview will finally have a homecoming parade!! My best Memories of high school (CHS #89) was our homecoming parades!! I have a senior and a freshmen at Northview and I’m glad my boys will get the chance to experience how exciting and fun the parades are!! So my thanks goes out to whomever come up with and approved this!!! We will have happier kids at Northview if we allow them to have activities like this!!!
I miss having the school in Century!
Thats one thing I miss the Homecoming Activities in a Century!!!
teacher just called Bratt, “our city”.
“That’s funny right there, I don’t care who you are”
Being a “Brattonian”, I can get away with that.
There’s just over a mile of wonderful green roadside between Coopers store and the high school that you can park on to watch the parade. So you should arrive early and select a spot because the best one’s will go fast!
Great Idea!! I hope this is the beginning of a new tradition. Students need those positive memories. Go Chiefs!
Thanks Molino mom. Bratt is our city. We trying to work out a plan for EWMS. We did not forget them. Thanks again for coming to our defense. We are going to have parade for the schools and community.
TO “my thought” what were they suppose to do, have it in downtown Pensacola? Molino has a Christmas parade every year that thousands of people watch on similar country, residential roads. Works just fine, and people manage to find parking. Someboy’s always got to find something wrong I guess.
I think it is a wonderful idea. I think EWMS should allow students to checkout early to go see it and not allow the teachers to do any tests or anything that would hurt the child to miss.
I’ll be there! Go Chiefs!
Seems to me a homecoming parade would be more attractive going through city streets, not a major county highway. Did they even think as to where people would park to watch it? I mean only so many cars can fit at Coops.
“Wondering” Bratt is not getting dismissed early, but they are suppose to get to go outside and watch.
So are the kids at Bratt getting out early this day to attend?
This is one of the things I miss about Century High School. It’s about time.
