Early Saturday morning, deputies arrested the wanted felon they were unable to find when a manhunt in Walnut Hill  turned up empty Friday afternoon.

syriamichael082909.jpgMichael Lydell Syria, 41, of Juniper Street, Walnut Hill, is  now behind bars on felony burglary, criminal mischief and petty theft charges related to a recent burglary on Arthur Brown Road. He is being held on $11,500 bond.

When an Escambia County deputy spotted Syria outside a home on Juniper Street Friday early Friday afternoon, Syria headed for the woods.

About a half dozen deputies set up a perimeter while tracking dogs from Century Correctional Institution and the Escambia County Road Prison were brought  in to search for Syria. They followed his scent in and around Juniper Street and nearby Cypress Street and Arthur Brown Road, but they were unable to locate the suspect.

NENE- read the rap sheet and his history, this guy is a repeat offender THUG! I understand he has a name and it is michael but to me it is “con” or “fellon” people who prey upon the community are second class citizens and do not deserve the freedoms we in America have. I hope he stays gone for a long time, we do not need more people on the streets like that. and if he was my brother or son, I would feel the same way, if you can’t do the time, then don’t do the crime!

it is ashame there was no one home when he robbed the home. petty burgulary is grounds for justifiable homicide in the state of florida. the castle law removes the duty to retreat and allows citizens to defend themselves. bottom line burgulary is a crime and this thug needs to be put away. I hope he gets the help he needs while he is away.

This guy is a thug. If you don’t believe me, look at his rap sheet here:

This person whom we are commenting about has a name (Michael) . He is not a thug. It could be your child, your son, daughter or friend . Don’t ever think that you are beyond trouble. You don’t have to look for it. It sometime find you. Be careful how you treat people and what you say. The words sometime come back to you.

Kim………I pray that Mike will turn his life completly over to the Lord…. Man may not forgive him but we serve a God that will….. It don’t matter what man may think about you cause God sent his son Jesus to die for all of our sin…. We may look at what Mike did as such a big sin but when we can’t love our neighbor and speak bad things about them we are no better. We need to stop judging people cause God will allow something to happen to us or one of our family members just so he can show us that he don’t have no respectable people. God allow things to happen to us to draw us closer to him. My prayer is that this situation that Mike has allowed himself to get into will draw him to a place in God like he has never experienced in his life.

My prayers are with the family because this is someone father, child ,uncle and brother and I know they hate what he has done but they still love him.

THIS DEBATE IS UNECESSARY….THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT HE MUST DO HIS TIME AND THE HE SHOULDN’T BE INVOLVED IN THE ACTIVITIES THAT HE IS. DRUG ADDICTION HAS NO ONE PARTICULAR RACE, CREED, OR COLOR. ADDICTION ALTERS THE MIND WHICH IN RETURN CAUSES ONE TO MAKE BAD CHOICES. IN MY WORK ENVIRONMENT, I SEE DRUG ADDICTION DAILY. THIS STORY MAKES IT SEEM AS IF HE’S OUT THERE ALONE WHICH IS NOT TRUE. THE IGNORANCE IS SHOWING IN THE NAME CALLING AND THE LABELS, THOUGH. BASED ON THE WAY LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THAT AREA HANDLES SOME THINGS, MANY NAMES AND LABELS COULD BE GENERATED BUT THATS NOT NECESSARY. I DONT BELIEVE THAT ANYONE IS DISPUTING THAT HE SHOULD DO THE TIME…BUT THE CONCERN IS WHY DID IT TAKE HIM ROBBING SOMEONE ON ARTHUR BROWN ROAD ONLY, TO GET SOME ACTION? AND ITS NOT BECAUSE SOMEONE HELPS HIM!! THATS AN EXCUSE. THE CASE IS CLOSED HE IS IN JAIL NOW, HE WILL DO HIS TIME AND HOPEFULLY TURN HIMSELF AROUND.

  7. goldstar on August 30th, 2009 8:09 pm

Janice M. if you wanted to help lawenforcement, why did’nt you call and turn him in. then he could have gotten all the help he needed while locked away for committing crimes, and by the way if you would check he has committed crimes on Juniper St. in Atmore, Pensacola and who knows where else. the hard working tax payers didnot’ make the choice for this guy to get addicted to illegal street drugs “HE MADE THAT CHOICE” but the taxpayers will get to make the choice if this thug get’s to go free or pay for his crimes, and by the way the call is free to call in and report these drug dealers. “911″ , the reason he can never be caught in WalnutHill is because someone always helps him hide from the Deputies, he didnt get caught in WalnutHill but he still got caught. Good work ECSO

  8. NeNe on August 30th, 2009 7:16 pm

Taxpayer, I work hard. I work TWO jobs. How I would feel if I was robbed? I don’t know. Who want to be robbed? The good thing is there was no one home and no one was hurt. Thank God! We make choices in this world, some are good some are bad. There are people who are weak and there are people who are strong. Drugs has no respect for a person. It chooses rich people, poor, black, white, hispanic, etc , young and old. Yet and still we are all human and God does not love you any more than those you look down on. We like to judge people by their actions. God is the only judge. God is a forgiving God. Why is it that God can forgive us but we can’t forgive each other? I am not a judge and I’m not here to judge anyone. I believe one should be punish for their wrong doing. If I see my brother or sister fall ,I’m here to give a helping hand. We fall but we don’t have to stay down.We get up. I hope that this young man can get his life together. There is hope for him.
As for the children whose parents life was taken during the robbery. I don’t agree with what happened. I not here to judge them either. May God have mercy on all of them involved.

  9. true dat on August 30th, 2009 4:32 pm

Yes, Mike should serve his time for he did. He didn’t have to go that route. But that’s the life he wanted to live. Mike has done a lot of things, but God still loves him, and can change hiim like anybody else. But, The way I see it, It took him to go rob a home on Arthur Brown in order for something to be done. But when he does something on Juniper Street, your nowhere in site, or you come up with some excuse why you can get him. Some of everybody work hard for their goods,(not all), but when you got drug dealers giving drugs to the people like Mike it will continue to go on. Mike didn’t do some of these things by himself….Oh! he had help. As for as the names calling, that;s ignorgant! Don’t throw rocks and hide hands, because what’s done in the dark will come to light, and if it ain’t been no rain in your life, just wait a little while, it’s coming. The Bible do declares that the last will be first, and the first will be last. What make you better than Mike, and anyone else. I’m just glad he’s in jail, so maybe he will straighten himself out, gain his weight back, Because If he’s not on drugs, he is a better person. Plus, he don’t need hang in the same crew that he hang with, including the dealers. Just remember you, nor I is above the law, Plus God is going to do the judging. Just remember that Jesus is coming, and the antichrist and his followers will fall. Let it be known, it’s gonna start through Law Enforcement. So be careful what you do or say.You will reap!

  10. JANICE M on August 30th, 2009 3:40 pm

I NEVER SAID THAT HE WASNT DESERVING OF DOING TIME OR THAT HE WASN’T WRONG FOR COMMITTING THE CRIMES. I LIKE ANY WOULD HAVE CALLED “LE” TOO. SOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE DONT TRY TO PUT ME IN MY PLACE. HE COULDN’T BE CAUGHT IN “ITTY BITTY” WALNUT HILL BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN HE WAS CAUGHT IN PENSACOLA WHERE THERE ARE QUITE A FEW MEN, ROAMING THE STREETS THAT MEET HIS DESCRIPTION. I SURE HOPE YOU WERE THERE “GOLDSTAR” WHEN HE WAS CAUGHT AT S AND BOBE ST! WHY DOES THE HEADLINES HAS TO BE SO DRAMATIC. “SUSPECT BUSTED!! ” WHAT DID YOU BUST HIM DOING?? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW?

  11. Goldstar on August 30th, 2009 1:40 pm

Janice M. just so you will know this dirtbag didnot turn himself in he was caught at S and Bobe St. in Pensacola. He did what he always does tucks his tail like a little girl and runs. He’s nothing but a menace to society. If he would get a job like normal people he could buy stuff instead of stealing from hard working honest people.

  12. JANICE M on August 30th, 2009 8:22 am

FIRST OFF, I AM IN NOW WAY CONDONING THIS MAN’S ACTIONS, YES HE DESERVES TO DO HIS TIME BUT HE TURNED HIMSELF IN !!!!!! SO, I DON’T THINK IT SHOULD BE WRITTEN AS IF THEY FOUND AND ARRESTED HIM. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THEY CAME UP EMPTY ON A “MANHUNT” FOR THIS GUY IN THE SAME AREA. SO IF YOU ARE GOING CREDIT, GIVE IT TO ALL PARTIES.(GOOD AND BAD)

nene This would have only got worse. What if some one had been home during one of these burgularys have you read the newspaper lately I believe you would have seen the children that are now with out parents because of just this kind of crime. Walnut Hill and Bratt are very greatful for all the officers. Thank you MR. Murphy if this is you in the photo. I have no problem with the officers doing their job. NENE would you like to have been robbied. I work hard for what I have. I certainly do not want it to be stolen.

  16. NeNe on August 29th, 2009 12:50 pm
