I went to school with Kayla and I had a few classes with her. I remember joking around with her in 4th period back in my Sophomore year and her Freshman year. I ended up dropping out and I just learned about this. I’m so sad and upset that I didn’t know sooner so I could go pay my respects Kayla. I’m sorry. I wish this didn’t have to happen to you.
Kayla always wore her seat belt this is just one of those freak things. She was a beautiful person and is missed dearly. Just say a prayer eveytime your child heads out the door that they put their seat belt on.
I was one of Kaylas best friends through middle school we did everything together, and we were still goods friends before the accident. God obviously needed Kayla more than we did. Yes Kayla should have had a seat belt on, use this as an example wear your seat belt. It really does suck god needed her.. but I know he had his reasons.. I am so sorry Ms.Tina, Mr. Tim, Penny, The Bakers, and the Jarmans. I miss Kayla so much I can’t imagine what your going through.
My big was the greatest person EVER. She will be missed dearly. It’s hard to deal with her being gone, but she will never be forgotten. Best friends since birth. I love you baby girl. May God rest your soul. I love you.

You Know the county needs to FIX the shoulders(road)on west roberts road its real bad and thats Why kayla wrecked she went off the side of the road and over corrected it Wake up county road department it bad i hate driveing on that road more so when its raining……..Kayla will be missed Dearly………….
While the use of seat belts doesn’t totally guarantee that a person won’t be killed, it’s pretty clear that if these kids had been wearing them they wouldn’t have been ejected from the vehicle. Even an ejection from a slow moving car can cause severe head injuries. Most of these accidents seem to be happening when the car gets too far over onto the shoulder and the driver over corrects and loses control. We all need to advise young (& all) drivers how to handle this type of situation. It’s been my understanding that you do not hit the brake; just let up on the gas and continue forward (if possible) and slowly ease your way back up onto the road.
kayla is my sisters best friends daughter. when i got the call i was in tears. she was a good kid. i just hope everyone in my family will wear their belts all the time. my niece and nephew (who were friends with kayla) knows that when they get in my car they have to wear thier seatbelts. i just hope they do it when they go off with friends. im sorry tina and tim.
I Personally Knew both Amanda and Kayla. I was attending the same High school as them. And Have had many classes with the two through out the years. I Still can’t believe that Kayla has past, And I cant Urge the importance of seat-belts enough.Keep Kayla’s family in your prayers please. Thanks
You Know i knew this girl and SEAT BELT or not when God calls upon you he does not care if you have on a seat belt or not ………But they do help you in other ways like not getting a ticket !!!! i have a 40 year old son who has been ticketed two times for not having seat belts on and I guess he does not wear them “because he’s being told to do so”. My daughter hooks her belts before starting the car. I know that some times in a wreck a person will die—BUT BELTS MAY GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO LIVE. I’m very sorry for the families in this –plus the young people who are hurting.
My heart goes out to the teens family! I have a 17 yr old son and it is a huge fear of mine. Everytime he goes to walk out the door I tell him ” Wear your seatbelt” . I know if I didn’t stay on him all the time about wearing one he would not think twice about pulling out of the yard without one . Such a sad story!
WHY, WHY, WHY, won’t people wear seat belts? I really want to know. Would some non-seat belt wearers PLEASE share that with me? My own mother learned (the hard way) WHY she needed to wear one. I just do not understand.
