Missing Cantonment Woman Is Located
August 6, 2009
A missing Cantonment woman was found Wednesday, surviving off rainwater in a wooded area.
Family members said Mary Renee McCarthy had been missing since Thursday. She was bipolar and schizophrenic, according to family, and wandered into a wooded area near her home. She was off her medication at the time.
McCarthy was located in that wooded area Wednesday in fair condition.

Wow, missing 6 days in Escambia County. If the Sheriff’s helicopter were in service, she probably would have been found in a matter of hours, not days. It’s only a matter of time before we hear of a case like this with a worse outcome. Bring back the Chopper!
That’s wonderful that she was found and is OK. Hopefully someone will intervene and make sure she takes the medications for her illnesses.
Glad that she’s okay.
Praise God that she is found.
