Ball Tourney Raises $2,176 For Cancer Patient

Organizers are calling a coed softball tournament held Saturday in Walnut Hill a complete success, with $2,176.75 raised for cancer patient Marty Green.

There were seven teams that participated in the tournament at Bradberry Park in Walnut Hill.

The tournament winner was All Mixed Up, and Buck Wild. Other teams participating were Sold Out (the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Youth Group), Christian Home Freewill Baptist, Young Guns, High Voltage and Flora-Bama.

Tournament organizers, Northwest Escambia Little League and Northwest Escambia Football, expressed a heartfelt “thanks” to those that participated and volunteered to make the tournament a success.

    Marty,
    I like a lot of folks remember you your sisters, & moma well. Yall are good folks. This illiness is such a big cause of fear, dread, BUT I have heard victories before. I don’t kow about you but I need victories. Simply tips on how to handle things that will be coming our way and maybe someone who has already gone through this will give us kindness through pray, cards, tips, Just keep us and others in mind. I say us because, I too know of the horrors. I was told last week that I have cancer in the T-Verterbrate.After just getting over colon cancer, What, how, why and who will help me. I am so scared. Feeling alone and it seems all I hear is horror stories. The i’M NOT WANTING TO HEAR ABOUT suffering I wanting toHEAR, “HEY DON”T GIVE-UP, THERE’S MORE TO BE DONE., YOUR ALIVE AN FIGHT, A CHILD OF GOD! I hope someone has these stories.
    I am alive.and want to stay alive to serve GOD.
