Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
central Escambia County in northwest Florida…
west central Santa Rosa County in northwest Florida…

* until 445 PM CDT

* at 409 PM CDT… National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail… and
damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near
Chumuckla… or 24 miles southwest of Brewton… and moving southeast
at 5 mph.

* The severe thunderstorm will be near…
6 miles northeast of Molino by 440 PM CDT…
Chumuckla by 445 PM CDT…

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

In addition to large hail and damaging winds… continuous cloud to
ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors
immediately! Lightning is one of natures number one killers.
Remember… if you can hear thunder… you are close enough to be
struck by lightning.
