Highway 113 Wreck Injures Four, Including Two In Critical Condition

(Updated) Four people were injured — two critically — in a two vehicle accident on Highway 113 north of Flomaton about noon today.
The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 113 and Foshee Road about eight miles north of Flomaton. Authorities say the driver of a Ford Ranger pickup truck pulled from Foshee Road into the path of Nissan SUV The northbound Nissan was propelled across the southbound lanes by the force of the impact came to a stop in a nearby field.
Authorities said there was one person critically injured that had to be extricated from the vehicle. A female in the Nissan was also critically injured.
The female driver of the Ford Ranger was from the local area, authorities said. The Nissan was occupied by a family from Georgia — a husband, wife and a child under two. The child was not seriously injured.
All four were transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. LifeFlight was called to the scene, but was unable to respond due to weather.

Update. (7-9-09) The “one” in which Ms. Cat explained is still in ICU has been moved into her own room now. She is doing great and better than expected. She suffered a brain injury from the impact of the hit. Other than a few fractures all is pretty well. Thank you for all the prayers, we definitely apprectiate them!
7/8/09-Update, all is doing okay one still in ICU, please say a pray for them all.

Kinda shows the false sense of protection SUV’s give, huh?
People —PLEASE be more careful. Look twice or even three times. The traffic on 113 is High speed and the people traveling it are mostly going from city to city and in a hurry. They are moving much faster than you think. Take a moment to wait for them to pass and while you are waiting whisper a prayer for those traveling folk………………
