Big Chill: Molino Church Builds Igloo With 700+ Plastic Jugs

July 26, 2009

Volunteers at a Molino church used over 700 plastic jugs to construct an igloo this week.

The igloo will be used in Aldersgate United Methodist Church’s Camp Edge August 3-7  from 5:30 to 8:30 each evening.

The igloo is held together with nothing but “lots of hot glue”, Sandra Greenwell, VBS organizer, said.  For more info on the Camp Edge VBS, click here.

I have received several inquiries to find out if our Camp E.D.G.E. is full.

Just wanted you to know that we have a tent, backpack, and the rest of Camping Gear – just waiting for you! Even if you have not preregistered, come on out tonight – Aug. 3rd for a fun time as we learn more of our AWESOME God and how he is with us EVERYWHERE we go!!!

Camp E.D.G.E. is open for all children 3 yrs – 6th grade!

    Hope to see you there!

This is really fantastic! I’m forwarding to my friend that lives in Kodiak, Alaska. I know he’ll love it too as he and his brothers attempted a real ice igloo when they were little. I think yall’s looks much better that what they came up with!

It’s heart warming to see so much love and support for the children.

    Thanks for your comments!

    As you can see…..

CAMP E.D.G.E. VBS is not your typical stroll through the woods. In addition to the ‘Polar Bear Snack Express’ – which is the location of our HUGE IGLOO – we also will have our Camp Sites, Waterfalls, Caves, Butterfly Gardens, Science Labs…and much more!

It’s an action-packed, adrenaline-filled expedition that teaches kids how to live on the E.D.G.E. in their faith. Daily adventures with the Bible will introduce kids to characters that have experienced and discovered God in many ways.

Camp E.D.G.E. is open to all children 3 yrs to 6th grade. Hope to see you there!

AWESOME igloo we have for our Camp E.D.G.E. campers to come and enjoy the week of VBS. We actually have finished the igloo now..and we will report the actual number of ‘iced’ :) jugs we used, once we finish counting. What a blessing to see so many church members turn out to help prepare for our VBS!!!! This is just one attraction for our EXTREME adventures – EXPERIENCING and DISCOVERING GOD EVERYWHERE!!!
