Walnut Hill Road Gets Name

May 8, 2009

A Walnut Road that previously did not have a name was given one by the Escambia County Commission Thursday night.

The commission approved the street name “Wiley Lane” for a previously unnamed private road that runs west off of the 100 block of Juniper Street, about one half mile north of Arthur Brown Road.

One new street sign will cost the county $196.80.

It comes as a suprise that this road was not named. I wonder how EMS and Police responded to that location in the past ? It seems to me that the $196.80 is money well spent as it could make the difference between life or death to the residents who live there.
