One Person Seriously Injured In Bratt Accident Early Saturday

One person was seriously injured about 1:10 Saturday morning in a single vehicle accident in Bratt.
Amanda Gifford, 34, was driving a Chevrolet Z71 pickup when she struck a tree on Hall Road between Breastworks Road and Highway 99. She suffered a serious head injury, according to authorities, in the accident. She walked about one tenth of a mile to a nearby house to call for help.
Gifford was transported by ambulance to the Molino station of Escambia Fire Rescue where she was transferred to LifeFlight.
Gifford told authorities that she had hit a deer. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The Walnut Hill station of Escambia Fire Rescue and Atmore Ambulance responded to the call.
