The 26 bus operators in Escambia County’s North Sector held an Excellence Forum Wednesday to discuss issues related to student transportation.

The bus operators met at Northview High School with Eric Fritz, the Escambia School District’s director of transportation.

“The meeting was held so that the drivers could make a presentation to Mr. Fritz with ideas and goals for our district transportation department,” said Tina Vickery, route supervisor for North Escambia. “Many ideas and goals were presented with enthusiasm and team spirit as we work together for the safe transportation of our most precious cargo, the school students of the North Sector of Escambia County.”

I am thankful for the job these dedicated individuals challenge to perform. I can barely keep my sanity as my two are rowdy as I am driving! Let alone the number of students on the buses everyday!!! They are a credit to the department and are under appreciated. I saw in issues past where Mrs. Vickery had suffered greatly in an auto accident. One of the ladies I know who drives for the school, said she is having a very hard time and might lose one of her feet. I will be praying for her and her family. I can not imagine such tragedy. With faith in Jesus Christ, All things are possible!

Yeah P.K. You go girl. I admire the job you do on your bus. You make students mind and behave and there’s no monkey business on Mrs. Kennedys’ bus you can believe that. Quiet back there. LOL Love ya girlie.

Mrs. Kimmons, Thanks for the hugs you give my little ones in the morning when they get on the bus and have had a rough time getting going so early. You are truly a blessing to our family.
