Walnut Hill Resident Finds Suspicious People In His Backyard

March 14, 2009

A Walnut Hill resident reported to deputies that he found two suspicious people in his backyard early Friday afternoon.

The  Morgan Road resident told Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies that he arrived at his home to find two black males in a truck in his backyard. The truck was described as a white work-type truck with a toolbox.

The two men reportedly told the man that they were at the home to fix a refrigerator. But the resident told deputies that no one had been called to do any type of repairs at the home.

Deputies searched the area for the truck and its occupants, but they were unable to locate either.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may have seen the truck in the Morgan Road area of Walnut Hill is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department at 436-9620 or Crime Stoppers  at 433-STOP.

I wish they would have caught them, because they are apt to do it again. In this case the recently grounded ECSO helicopter would have been nice to spot them from the air.

wow! that is really scary to know that someone in North Escambia
are going around to people’s home’s and lying! Like Sandy said,
Love your neighbor as yourself, but remember from our point of view
    everyone alive is your neighbor.

I want neighbors to know. Please Speak-up, go see, do what every to check out my house, property on Hwy. 4. We just about know our neighbors, least most. If not personally, the goings and coming from their place. Not from nosyness but from being human. Help them out. Keep an eye out. Love thy neighbor as thy self. Do what’s right.

I do not know what time the morgan road guy found those two guys but I saw a truck that looked like this Friday afternoon on my road. it is a private road with one way in and the same one way out. I was outside behind my house with my dogs and I heard a car on the road and walked around the house to look and saw a truck matching the description. it was going very slow and stoped suddenly and turned around in the field across from my home. I would like to think it was the same people, and I know they say me. I should add that since all of these break-ins and increased crime in the area, I have been wearing a hip holster and carry a gun with me when I am outside on my land. I would like to think if it was the same people that they got the message. I try to watch out for my neighbors as I know they would watch out for me. I will call the ECSO in the morning to report this in case it was the same people.
