The Chiefs are now 8-3 on the season. They were scheduled to play two on the road in Mobile Saturday, but their afternoon game has been canceled.

Northview will travel to St. Paul’s in Mobile Saturday for a single game starting against St. Paul at 11 a.m.

I was hoping I was wrong, but it seems Catholic Intimidated certain individuals, that is unfortunate. Like Shellcracker said we have to look ahead to our next District Opponent, yes I said Opponent, it certainly isn’t our friend, at least not while on the field of play. We must have the right view of our adversaries in order to enable our winning instincts to work properly. We are not playing these games just to say we participated, we are playing these games to soundly defeat all our challengers, not just the ones that are of a certain low caliber. We can defeat all Challengers. The properly placed shot from a small caliber weapon can defeat any large caliber weapon on any day. It is not always the size of the weapon that matters, it is how well we use it that matters.

It’s amazing that people have alot to say when hiding behind a “nickname”.
Why can’t you put your real name? Hmm??

Austin Reid you are doing a great job! I’m proud of you!!!!!

What was the extent of his injury.Didn’t think it was bad when he kept pitching.

It seemed as if you were defending RDB’s definition of “positive” and use of “Intimidation” (LOL). It sounded like an echo in the room!

The positive posters appriciate your compliment and wishes for a speedy recovery to the Catholic pitcher.

    Go Chiefs!

Well i don’t think the positive things that where posted was intended to motivate anyone but the Chiefs.Maybe you see things different but that’s your choice.Idon’t think you ever read where i was celebrating a player getting hurt.If so please recall my memory.Anyway that’s all history now, like before we have to get ready for Walton.

Intimidation is a useful tool when used properly, it is clear that some teams know how to use it.

    Shellcracker.

Positive is not providing an opponent with motivation BEFORE a game by posting bulletin board material, especially a team of Cathloic’s caliber. What is positive about an underhanded comment celebrating a High School Kid being injured summed up with petty comments? When you attempt to build a fire make sure it don’t become arson!

Your reaction seems to indicate that you feel you have to say something vice having something to say!

    “How”
You had something to say. A very “Positive” comment. A Home Run!

I’ll take positive statments all day over negativity. This chapter is closed, the new one is Walton. We have to focus on what’s ahead, not things we can’t change. You take things like this and learn from them, only to get better.Work hard this week guys and put this district win in the books.

Well I guess I am wondering why anyone would have a concern with positive statements about Northview Sports. It definitly cannot hurt to post positive thoughts on a blog or chat if you like, that fans and players and coaches and the like read almost on a dailey basis. If one positive or motivational word can help with the teams progress or spirit, then that is all that matters. If you think that all of the motivation has to come from the coaches, then you really don’t know much about sports or what it takes to have a winning program. It is always best to try to be apart of the solution instead of part of the problem.

Medicine woman, no truer words have ever been spoken. He works hard, demands respect from his players, and he watches boys grow into men. Winning is not everything that you get out of the game. He does not have to recruit to get his team, he makes it with the kids he has available.

    Well said Medicine Woman.

Just wondering maybe this is the deal.

A Wise man has something to say. A Fool has to say something.

I look back several years and see how much this baseball has progressed. Coach Wheatley has done a Great job. He is hands down the best baseball coach in Northview’s 14 years. I believe we have great years ahead of us here with him at the helm. I know it is easy to pat a man on his back when he is winning, but he is the hardest working baseball coach I have seen. He doesn’t have the luxury of recruiting great players, he has taken what was given to him and shaped them into a competitive team year in and year out. Great job!! It’s not about beating a particular team, it’s about carrying yourself in a championship manner on and off the diamond. You played and acted like champions. The big win will come. Listen to your coaches, trust them, believe in one another. When you look around on that field they are all you have.

Who is this RDB? A cheerleader, motivational speaker, wanna be coach, or what? I keep reading his comments on every article about Northview baseball and keep thinking what his deal?

  16. RDB on March 21st, 2009 7:31 pm

No doubt Catholic won this game, but Northview did bust up the no hitter streak for the pitcher with the big bruise on his body and his ego. The perfect team also made an error or 2, the chiefs must have done something right.

Now we must Persevere Chiefs. Stay strong, I am sure the Coaches will make the needed changes to work toward conquering our adversary.
