Bluff Springs Accident Leaves Some In The Dark, No Injuries

An unknown number of people were without power Friday afternoon in the Bluff Springs area following an accident that sent a power pole crashing down.

The accident happened about 3:10 Friday afternoon on Highway 29 near Byrneville Road. A truck reportedly hit a power pole in the area. There were no injuries in the accident.

The Century Station of Escambia Fire Rescue was called to the scene, along with the Florida Highway Patrol.

Gulf Power dispatched a service truck from the Milton area to restore power.

    They were still working on this when I passed by at 6pm. This is the same area that had the speed reduced to 55, but do you think people bother to slow down. Even with the yellow flashing lights, most still do 65-70 mph. The speed limit is the MAXIMUM speed you are allowed to go NOT the suggested speed. AND the sign is in English so “all y’all” should be able to read it. With the roads wet from the rain I’m sure the driver didn’t even think to slow down.
