Sunday Afternoon Wreck In Century Causes Injuries

One person was transported to the hospital following a two vehicle accident in Century Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened at the intersection of East Highway 4 and Jefferson Avenue just before 1:30 Sunday afternoon. A pickup truck and an Acura Legend collided at the intersection. The Acura spun around, running backwards over a stop sign on Jefferson Avenue.
The driver of the Acura was transported to Jay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A front seat passenger and a 13-year old rear seat passenger in the pickup truck were taken to Jay Hospital by private vehicle with minor injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Century Station of Escamibia Fire Rescue and Escambia County EMS responded to the call. The Molino and McDavid stations of Escambia Fire-Rescue and the Flomaton Fire Department were orginally dispatched to the call, but they were canceled prior to their arrival.

i think there needs to be somthin done there after all these accidents are heppening there.
I live right here on Jefferson Ave, this is a very dangerous intersection. I watched a car run the Old Flomaton rd. stop sign and cross straight over to Jefferson and the vehicle on Hwy 4 slammed on brakes just thursday night. Something needs to be done here! My family travels this road every single day and people just don’t pay attention. I really hope something can be done… speed bumps, caution light just something that might get people’s attention to stop.
how many people have to get hurt or killed at this intersection before somthing is done about it
It is a very dangerous intersection…….but,obviously careless driving plays the major role!!!!
